I have been to several events and receptions at this hotel and have clients who stay there all the time. The rooms are very comfortable, the food is fantastic, the service is great and it is literally one block from the US Capitol. It has a great Irish Pub in it, and for one special event had an ice cream sundae bar! I have always had the friendliest people help me on staff there.
I was moving in with a roommate, and we had everything out of her old apartment except a couch. It had been delivered when she was not home, so she had no idea how the movers got it in, because we could not get it out. It was a bit of a crisis because she needed to be out of the apratment by a certain time. Gulliver's movers wrapped the couch and had it out so fast we were amazed. They also were able to fit her in on short notice and gave her a great deal since she was just moving one peice just a few miles.
I considered using them for my wedding day hair, but not after the extremely bad experience with the hair trial. They were not really listening to what I wanted and they were not patient. They made it seem like I should just try one style and like it, not keep trying looks to see if I liked one better. For the $100 they charge for just a trial, I would have expected much better service.
I was very sad that they were booked for my wedding date, because I have been to weddings where they did the flower arrangements and they were just stunning. They are fresh, beautiful flowers, in nice vases. The staff was very professional to work with when I was talking to them before they became booked on my date. They have great attention to detail.
In addition to great wedding dresses, they have a huge selection of bridesmaids dresses to choose from. It is great to go there to be able to try so many on in one place. The store is larger than most independent boutiques, and there is plenty of helpfull staff people around. They also have mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom dresses, as well as flowergirl outfits.
I had a realtor from Long adn Foster Old Town for my first home buying experience. On our first time out, she got lost, as if she was totally unfamiliar with the area she was showing me. So she certainly could not tell me much about the neighborhoods. Then, she recommended I not bother with a home inspection on my condo, and I regret that I took her advice. She also got some very important information incorrect that I used to make my decision to buy (and that I did not learn was wrong until later). Finally, she forgot several things before the closing that would have saved me money. I was very unhappy with the experience.
I am not sure if too many people know about this place, because it is close to my house and I rarely see people in there. But that made for a very nice shopping experience because I had all the attention. It is very private and the sales people are knowledgeable. Their prices seem to be right in line with similar boutiques, and the selection was good.
You can tell as soon as you step into the small bakery that the owners LOVE animals and love to spoil them. They have a large selection of treats for you to tempt your pooch or feline with. They also have a small selection of gifts and speciality items for your pal. Doggies are always welcome on premises!
So, I can wait for movies to be done with second run, and instead of paying $20 to go to a crowded theater with overpriced food and uncomfortable chairs, I get to go to the Draft House, where I can choose comfortable chairs, have great food and drink brought to me and pay a fraction of the regular price. Sign me up! They also show Redskins football on the big screen for free. A great place for a get together
PROS: Watching movies is affordable here
CONS: There is a smoking section, that is too bad
More than one bride has complained about the challenges when working with Multiflor. I was helping a friend's wedding and they were late (with no apologies), and not helpful about setting everything up. They also were not as responsive as they should have been during the last days before the wedding, when my friend really wanted confirmation that everything was going smoothly!
