Northshore Animal Hospital

I've taken our animals (one dog and 2 cats) to Northshore animal hospital on more than a few occassions and the care is always the same - Great. The vets are caring and knowlegeable and the vet techs really love their job. In an emergency situation they're equiped to handle most anything. It's a smaller clinic but accessibility is easy. Parking could be larger. Still a great place to entrust your pet friends.

Jean Cukier Pa Facs

When our 4 year old daughter was bit by a dog (bit 1/2 of her top lip off) we were referred to Dr. Cukier. The surgery had to be reconstructed within 3 hours and we were rushed right in. He immediately put her at ease and they went to work on her little face. An hour later, other than stitches, she was her beautiful little self again. In an emergency or for any other surgery I would trust him to do the best possible job. Although that was a few years ago, she is only left with a hair-line scar. Great staff!

Ben Taub General Hospital

This has got to be the absolute WORST place on the planet to be if you need medical treatment! When I was laid off, I also lost my insurance and my wife ended up in the hospital. For 7 days they tried to diagnose and still no results. It's a teaching hospital and apparantly even the majority of the Doctors could use a refresher course! The nurses ignore the patients calls, didn't refill IV bags when they emptied for an hour or more, etc.

I realize that some people have to go here but the service is simply the worst.

Pool Stanley J Md

Dr. Pool is a one of a kind doctor. He was our Doctor for about 6 years until we moved to the Austin area and they don't make them like him anymore. He's from S. Africa (with that great sense of humor), he is compassionate, one of the smartest Doctors I've ever had. He's in an area that easily accessible (close to Hobby Airport) and his nurses were just as special as he was. He's one Doctor that really knows his medicine and my family misses him. If you're looking for an excellent Doctor - this man is IT.

B-Remembered Monuments

The people at B-remembered are wonderful when it came time to get that special headstone for our loved one. They had a great selection of styles to choose from and really took the time to find out about the 'departed' for a more personalized stone. Very reasonable and had it ready in a timely fashion. They offer other services but we just bought the headstone and were very satisfied with the finished product.

Bill Muench Insurance

Bill Muench is one of the friendly guys in the insurance industry that I've ever met. They can handle all your needs from health - home - car and investments as well. They're conveniently located down Sam Bass (across from the Cemetary) and they really go the extra mile to make sure you're covered in ANY situation.

Paradise Bingo

I've been to this place a couple of times and if you're not one of the regulars you get ignored. The atmosphere is a bit snobby (and it's not in the best part of town either). The workers aren't helpful or don't want to slow down enough to help you. The prices are a bit high - payouts are average tho. The snack bar was reasonable with some tasty food so I give them a 3-star for that!

Uniq Hair Cuts

Recently I got a coupon for this place from a friend for a $7 haircut and decided to try them out. The place is much like a supercuts and not too busy. The stylists were friendly and took their time and I actually got a great cut! Yes, for $7. You can't beat that. I will be going back.

They do Womens and kids cuts too and they're great with kids!

Bobalu Cigar Co

I've been in Bobalu's a few times in the past and they never cease to amaze me. They're more reasonably priced than other cigar shops and they hand roll alot of their cigars on-site. I plan on doing alot of Christmas shopping in this place because of the prices. They carry other smoking items, ideas and gifts as well but the cigars are world famous!

Heroes & Legacies Cigars/gifts

This is one of the finest stores in the area for their selection of european and cuban cigars. The smell is positively amazing when you walk in and the staff is readily available to help you make the best choice possible. A good cigar is like a fine wine and they have the BEST. They carry a wide array of gifts including humidors, pipes, tobacco and more.
