Quintana Galleries
Quintanas carries Native American artwork -- the only such gallery I know of in the area, though there may be more -- created by every major tribe from northern Washington to the Arctic. The gallery regularly shows regional art, while there are monthly shows that focus on tribes from other regions. Part gallery part (sort of) museum, it's a fascinating place.
Yoshidas Fine Art Gallery
Nifty in design and content, this corner space gallery represents dozens of artists who run the gamut, from wall art to pottery to sculpture. The walls transfigure in this gallery, and variously are covered with bamboo grass cloth, adding to the unique atmosphere. Certainly unlike the other galleries in town.
Lawrence Gallery
A very large gallery, it houses a variety of art by young and old painters alike, along with a wine cellar and even an outdoor sculpture garden. One of the more spacious and attractive galleries in the Pearl, this one impresses with its airy and well-lighted premises, a nice contrast with some of the more cramped locations in the area.
Janice Griffin Gallery
5,000-square-feet in the center of the Pearl, this space serves as part showroom and part studio for a local artist of note who specialized in over-sized oil paintings, some of which have been used in various commercial installations. You'll most likely be looking not buying here, but there's nothing wrong with that, particularly if you're an art lover.
Byzantium
One of the rare clothing shops that caters to women with un model-like figures, Byzantium offers shopping for a woman's workday, evening, and weekend wardrobe. Price ranges fall on the medium to high side, which is right in keeping with the area. Sales are frequent, and if you catch the right one, significant savings can be had.
Desperado Incorporated
Unusual for a town with nary a cowboy motif, this is a specialty store that caters to the Western fan in some of us, with custom boots, buckles, hats, fringe-leather, turquoise and silver jewelry. They're not limited to clothing, as they handle home decor as well and provide a gift service.
Dress Code
Located in the Brewery Blocks very near Whole Foods, this is a high-end men's apparel boutique. Featuring small quantities of pieces from designers exclusive (locally) to this store, you'll find everything here from pants, belts, dress shirts, T's, jeans, sweaters, ties, jackets, etc, just probably at a higher price and quality than you tend to find elsewhere.
Henny Penny
Henny Penny, a store whose playful attitude is reflected in its rhyming name, offers a European twist on children’s clothing. A fashion-forward boutique offering children's clothing? Yup. Everything from from Petit Bateau rompers for infants to French designer Kenzo outfits for when they hit 9 or 10. Another store that wouldn't exist in the area without the Pearl.
Monique's Boutique
A boutique which offers suitcase-friendly attire for commuters, day-trippers, and long-term explorers alike. The apparel is machine washable and airy, while the ample selection of comfy shoes and accessories help to soften the discomforts of extensive travels. On the midrange to expensive side to be sure, so use restraint when shopping.
Physical Element
Situated in a converted industrial space, this sporting goods store offers functional and stylish workout wear entirely for women. Whether it's walking, running, yoga, or tastes that run to the International, you'll find lines here which provide an alternative to the usual drab gym attire that you can't stand to wear another day.
