Sometimes I feel like macy's herald sqaure is really dusty and dirty. but it does have a certain charm and i have always thought that the sales associates are very helpful. the best kept secret is the sale section in the basment kitchen department. they have ourageous sales - perfect for houswarming gifts, etc. - ex. quesadilla maker for 14.99!
this is the one. i hate to get all wedding cheesy, but i knew this was the caterer just like i knew my fiance was the one. it has friendly, competent staff who really seem to care about us on our special day and they prepared a to die for menu and tasting - thiking of everything down to the last detail.
this is where i opened my account when i got my first paycheck when i first came to the city. i have now had that account for three year, lived in three different neighborhoods and have never been disappointed. this branch had friendly staff and a welcoming environment.
I made a wonderful scrap book for my friend after she got married and this was the place that had it all. I hate those cookie cutter scrap book materials and they have those, but they also have a HUGE selection of other items like ribbon, wrapping paper in wide range of patterns, textures, and hues that is great for backing to your photos. And great albums, but a little pricey.
The best thing I ever bought from the Sharper Image was one of those soft squishy pillows. I like this Sharper Image in Soho especially because it's one of the only places that is not look but don't touch - I love being able to try things out and usually end up wanting to buy something notbe able to afford it.
I spoke with a woman from the Movable Feast on the phone a couple of times while I was trying to find a caterer for my wedding. She was quite rude when I asked her to specify prices for me and if ther was any way we could work to bring down the price quote she gave me. She acted as though she did not have time for me and as though I had ridiculous questions, I am probably paying more with the catererer we decided on, but I am glad not to be dealing with someone like her on my wedding day.
I have gotten a lot of dry cleaning done here and it was alway top notch service. I once also got some altering done here and it was a little pricey but very high quality work.
If you are ever meeting someone in Union Square tell them you'll meet them in the Virgin Megastore. If one perosn is running late, it is a great place to peruse the shelves and shelves of interstin books, cds, and dvds whiole you wait. An added bonus is that they are well air-conditioned and play great music!
my fiance and I went here to buy a computer and they said they were about to close in 15 mintues and they would not let us in. the way they spoke to us was quite rude and I thought they could have let us in considering we were ready to spend at least 2 grand in their store!
I had friends who stayed here during the blackout and they were given the most classy service - food, drinks, and they were quite hospitable even to guests that were not actually staying in the hotel. Top notch!
