Pearls & Lace Wedding Place
They had "old" dresses. Because it's a small store, her turnover is slower, and some of the dresses seem to have been there for awhile. She will try her best to find something that you will like, and you can feel free to try on many dresses as you like, but the selection was poor. I didn't like any of the styles. Seemed like a store for more mature brides.
PROS: Nice owner, been in business for forever.
CONS: Selection is poor. Dresses are nicely priced, but styles are old.
David's Bridal
Yes the prices are extremely cheap. But the dresses are cheap too. If you don't really care, you may be able to find the perfect dress here. But if you're anal, and very picky, and willing to spend a little more, you may be able to find a better dress elsewhere. They have TONS of dresses here. It's like a dress warehouse, and you can feel free to go searching around. I didn't have an appointment, and was able to browse on my own, and even try them on.
PROS: Tons of dresses to pick from
CONS: No styles that were absolutely breathtaking.
Marcella's La Boutique, LLC
This is a wonderful store to find a dress in IF you are willing to spend the necessary money. I had a friend who bought a 4000.00 beautiful dress here. The dresses are very lovely. That said, if you don't have the budget, don't sulk, just go to Demetrio's, and you'll also find lovely dresses there for a fraction of the price. This store is for the girls looking for designer wedding gowns.
PROS: Designer, and lovely dresses.
CONS: Expensive, need I say more?
Red Light Clothing Exchange
This is the store for those who like funky. Serious retro funky. Don't come in here with a bunch of regular clothes to sell, because they don't care about name brands, they care about funky clothes. My friends and I have tried to bring in our clothes, but they were not interested in the normal clothes. Took them to Buffalo Exchange instead (down the street). This store is kind of dark, and maybe purposely. The feeling is hippie, eerie. I didn't really like this store. If you're looking for Halloween costumes, come here.
PROS: Weird, funky, strange clothes, and accessories.
CONS: Dark inside, and not bright and cheery.
Buffalo Exchange
It's close to the University, so expect to find a lot of cute items in the store from desperate college students hocking their clothes for money. I too, once was a college student, bringing my loads of clothes to sell here. Also had a friend who worked at Banana Republic, and would bring his clothes here. Some he NEVER EVEN wore!! You'll find tons of good looking clothes from the students. Note: they are picky, and will not buy damaged, dirty clothes from you. You can opt to donate them there, but they will only buy what they know they can sell. That said, this is one of the better used stores that I've been in. Doesn't have that musky smell inside. Bright, huge, and a lot of cute clothes. That said, I never bought anything here, since I have a phobia of used things. But I did look around. Prices seemed decent to me for the namebrand items.
PROS: Trendy, cute selection, and they buy from you too!
CONS: They are picky on what they buy, and don't buy junk.
University Village
I absolutely love coming to U Village. Not just for the shopping, but because they have EVERYTHING! Come here to get your groceries at QFC, and a very nice grocery store at that. The ambience is very nice. Or go shopping with some retail chains; Banana Republic, Gap, Victoria's Secret, etc, or go shopping for exclusive, expensive, high end items; Coach, Mercer, Anthropologie. When you're hungry, all in a stone's throw are restaurants all over you for quick eats. Visit the fantastic French bakery, and sit outside consuming your baked goods, while tiny birds flit around all over you. It's very peaceful. Not only that, it's very BABY FRIENDLY. The playground in the middle of the courtyard is a boon for mothers. Come sit here, and watch your children play, and then when they fall asleep, go shopping! Visit the Confectionary candy shop, similar to an old time candy shop. Or spend some time at Barnes and Nobles. You could come here with friends, and everyone will find something to do.
PROS: One of the best shopping centers all around!
CONS: Sometimes takes awhile to find a good parking spot!
Westlake Center
If you're coming here to shop, looking for a certain store, like the Maternity Store, or Impress Rubber Stamp store, then by all means, you won't be disappointed. But if you came here to really shop, you are in the wrong mall. I suggest you walk 2 blocks down to Pacific Place. That said, if you're in downtown, and want something reasonably priced to eat, eat here! They have an awesome variety of appetizing foods from every country. From World Wraps, to Thai, to Mexican, Indian, and my favorite; Georgio's Subs. If it's raining, exit underneath in the Metro tunnel, and you can walk to many other stores, like Nordstrom's and Macy's!
PROS: Need Quick eat, come here. Plenty of seating. Underground tunnel!
CONS: Not many very good, fashionable stores.
Pcc Natural Markets
PCC really has a big variety of the Organic, Eco friendly items. Gotta love this store. At least check it out. It's cute, has a different, cozy feel to it, and the way they arranged the items is really appealing. Foods will be a little more expensive, but as with all organic foods, this is to be expected. They have a great deli, with already made salads, soups, bakery items, etc. A fun place to go. The employees are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. Will go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Completely reccomend this place!
PROS: Clean, huge variety of wholesome, organic foods.
CONS: Organic foods are always more expensive.
Trader Joes
Trader Joes is awesome for those people who are wililng to pay more for organic, healthier foods. The prices are more expensive on many items, but they are organic! It's worth it! Be prepared; if you're looking for cheap foods that go on sale at Safeway, don't come here! They sell exclusive, some expensive, and cutely packaged items.
PROS: The food they sell is worth the money.
CONS: Organic foods are always more expensive.
Uwajimaya Inc
This is one of my favorite stores. There's free validated parking with purchase over 5.00, and more time added with purchase over 10.00. The food selection is amazing. Produce selection is amazing. They have all the hard to find produce items. Tons of foods from all asian countries. And the food court is awesome. They have every kind of Asian food. Bubble tea, Chinese bakery, Vietnamese pho, Korean food, etc. A really fun place to shop and browse around! The Japanese Bookstore is connected too!
PROS: A vast variety of things to eat, buy, browse!
CONS: You can find a lot of the items ~ .10 cents cheaper elsewhere!
