Trenton, MI Ice Skating Rinks 09/02/05: 'Ice Arenas'

This place is in serious need of updating! The rinks are old and the bleachers are yucky. It's also EXTREMELY cold in this rink. It's so cold you can see fog rising from the ice! It has an awful odor when you walk in the door too. I just don't recommend this arena for anything except maybe a pick up hockey game or something.

This is a nice place to get ice cream. It reminds me a lot of Dairy Queen but it's a cozy little corner place where you can go as a family and get ice cream and eat at the picnic tables. They have slushies there too which the kids love! I definitely recommend it!

St John United Church-Christ

Wyandotte, MI Christian and Reformed Church 09/02/05: 'St. John's Church'

This is the church I grew up in and I highly recommend it for everyone. The services are beautiful here with the choir. Pastor Kirsch has a good sense of humor and he's very wise. I'm never bored with his sermons! They have all kinds of groups you can volunteer for and lots of fun events as well. This is a great family church!

I have been to many events at Joe Louis and they are always well organized and pleasant. I've gone to Red Wings games, ice shows, concerts and a circus there. The only thing I don't like is that you have to wait in line for the women's restrooms! They should have double the women's restrooms than the men's! It's a nice place to go for any kind of special event.

I highly recommend Mike K's for all of your auto repair needs. Mike is a great guy and he is very fair. The prices are reasonable and he gets your vehicle back to you on a timely basis. He will also tell you if the repairs to your car aren't worth it rather than just trying to make an extra buck from you. Good place to go and Mike has a good sense of humor too! =)

This is my favorite mexican restaurants. I just love the bean and cheese nachos! They have really good food here and it's a nice atmosphere. The wait staff is all very nice and attentive. This is a great restaurant to go to where the whole family will enjoy themselves and the food!

Southgate, MI Health Clubs & Gyms 09/02/05: 'YMCA'

We have a family membership at this YMCA and it is a very nice facility. They have a gym, a huge pool, exercise machines, an indoor track, and kid care. It's nice to go there and take the kids to kid care and then go work out and then pick them up. They get to go swimming with other kids or play on computers while we get our exercise. This is a great place for a whole family to get in shape and enjoy themselves!

Romulus, MI Riding Academy/Stables 09/02/05: 'Horse Lessons and Rentals'

This is a great place if you want to have a horse at your child's birthday party. It's only $100 for one hour of horse rides at your house. My kids LOVED this! My daughter will start taking riding lessons here next week and they seem like really nice people there. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have a horsy party or learn to ride at a young age!

Wyandotte, MI Kindergartens - Wyandotte, MI Nursery Schools & PreSchools 09/02/05: 'Pre-School'

I recommend this pre-school if you want to be really involved in your child's pre-schooling. You have to take on a job like "field trip mom" or "fundraising mom" or "scheduling mom" or become a Board Member. You have to work 2-3 days per month with the teacher in the classroom with 1 or 1 other moms too. I was Treasurer for this organization a few years ago and I like the way they run the school and let the parents be involved so much. I didn't give it five stars because you may be a parent who doesn't want to be that involved. It's up to you but it's a good pre-school!

Stroh's Ice Cream Parlours

I have always loved Stroh's in Wyandotte. I grew up in Wyandotte and went to Stroh's frequently. I still go quite a lot but not as much as I'd like to because of dieting! They have really good ice cream there and Sanders hot fudge! It's now in a bigger building since the fire with outdoor seating too. I highly recommend going here for your ice cream snack!
