Village Shoe Inn
Village Shoe Inn is by far the best shoe store around. I went there last year because my sister was getting married and I needed shoes to match my dress, my friend told me this was the place to go so I took the drive. I was so happy I found this place, the selection of shoes is just awesome. the building is really cool and the staff is super nice. I think they have a couple more locations around metro detroit but I'm not positive. I find myself always going here for my shoes after that experience. the prices are average with shoe stores in the area, sometimes good deals and other times no good deals. the hours they are open are a big plus.
Catholic Supply House
I am a frequent shopper at The Catholic Supply House, any time that I am invited to any sort of religious function I go here to pick up my card and/or gift. this store is in a good location, very convenient. it is so big and has everything for the Catholic religion that you can think of. they have beautiful jewelry, bibles, clothes, wedding and baptism gifts. the workers are always very mellow and polite. the hours are good and the price is right. if you are in need of any thing for any Catholic function go here, they will have something that works for you.
Providence Hospital Cancer Center
I went to see Dr. Malviya last year when I was about four months pregnant. I was recommended to see him by my old ob/gyn because I had abnormal cells so I needed to go see a specialist. Well when I first got there I was fifteen minutes early so I could fill out all the paper work and be ready to go in at my scheldued time of 1:00pm. While I was sitting in the waiting, which was packed, I ended up having a conversation with a bunch of ladies. Well four of them had the same appointment time as me, and then a couple more for a half hour later. That didn't seem right to me that one doctor could to special tests on four ladies within a half hour. Finally after an hour of waiting the nurse called my name. I went into my little room and waited for the doctor to come in. Another hour went by, no doctor! I buzzed the nurse and asked what the heck was going on. She said Dr. Malviya was running late, he just got into the office and is seeing the lady in room number one. I was pretty mad because I was in room four, so that meant he has to finish up with room #1, then go to 2 and 3 before he sees me. Another hour went by and finally the doctor comes in. He asked me all these questions, and if I didn't understand something he said, he made me feel like a complete idiot! I felt very uncomfortable with him as my doctor because I felt as if he was putting me down for being 20 and pregnant. He actually had the nerve to ask me "why I was ruining my life by getting pregnant"! I would not recommend anyone to go see this doctor, he is extremely rude and has no bedside manner!
Metro Bike-N-Sports
I recently purchased two bikes for Metro Bike-N-Sport, I went here because a few of my friends have bought their bikes from here and were happy with the service and selection. they have tons of bikes, all name brand, clothes, every accessory for biking you can think of. the people at the counter seem to know it all and are very good at helping you make decisions on what bike is best for you and your needs. they have good hours and are open 7 days a week.
Goldstein Charles Dds - Complete Dental Care East
I started going to this dentist when I was a child because this is who my family used. I have always been afraid of the dentist but now that I am used to it I am not afraid anymore. I really like Dr. Goldstein, I have had some bad experiences with different dr's so it's nice to have someone you can depend on. the office is close to my home, always so clean, everyone greets you with a smile and the most important to me is that when you have an appointment at anytime, be it 8:30am or 5:00pm, that is when your appointment takes place, a lot of the times I make evening appts and am rushing from work and get there right on time and they are always waiting for me. they don't have 10 other people in the waiting room. they really know how to work a schedule. the hygienists are all very nice as is Dr. Goldstein. I now have a baby and you better believe his first trip to the dentist will be here.
Westlake Development Inc
we recently used Westlake to replace the grass at our house, ours was just really bad and to the point where we couldn't get it green so my sister recommended we call Westlake because she had recently had her sod at her new construction house done by them and was pleased with the result. they have top of the line materials for sodding and landscaping. they also offer installation and maintenance. they offer free estimates and no deposit is required, you pay upon completion and your own satisfaction, which tells me that they know what they are doing and have faith in their own work, which is good. the staff and installation crew were both very helpful. our experience with them was positive.
Poggiolo John C OD
I wear glasses and have for about 8 years, I don't remember why I started going to Dr. Poggiolo but probably because my aunt goes there and I'm the first one in my immediate family to have bad eyesight. this office is clean and well maintained. the doctor is always friendly and efficient. he gets his job done in a quick time frame. I have never had a bad experience here and am very happy to have a good eye doctor.
French Nails
I go to French Nails all the time to keep up on my manicure and pedicure. The people who do the nails are really great, they are friendly and they are so good at what they do. This nail salon has a variety of nail polishes to choose from as well as designs and rhinestones. When you request a pedicure they massage your feet and legs, and plus you get to sit in a chair with one of those vibrating massages in it. It's so relaxing! Everytime I go there I am so happy with the outcome of nails, it's really one of the best salons I've ever been too!
Nemo's Bar
If your in the detroit area, you have to check out Nemo's bar, they have the best hamburgers around! I work next door to Nemo's so I go there all the time for lunch. The staff is extremely friendly, always smiling and trying to make small talk to you. Whenever there is an event down in Detroit, like a Tiger's game, or Lion's game Nemo's offers shuttle buses to get there. You can go there have a few beers, and great food then head out to one of the games. Also, before the Lion's games, Nemo's has a big parking lot for tailgating, it's a lot of fun! It's fairly cheap for a ticket too. There are always so many people in the bar when theres big things going on in Detroit, it's a really fun atmosphere to be in. Nemo's don't only have good burgers but the rest of the menu is good too!
Skate World-Troy Roller Sktng
I love Skate World of Troy. there aren't that many skating rinks in our area but out of the couple this one is the best. it is very large and clean. they not only have roller skating but they have all sorts of video games, pool tables and eating area. they are open 7 days a week and offer lessons, private parties, birthday parties and will accommodate any function. they also have a pro shop where you can get the latest in skating accessories. the staff here is always on hand and friendly, it's a nice crowd on even given night of the week. the dj is really good and plays great hip music. the admission fees are very reasonable.
