I have used this State Farm office since I first moved to the area, they were so helpful getting me set up with Arizona insurance. They really looked at my individual needs and tried to keep costs down as much as possible. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I had so many things explained to me that no insurance person had ever bothered to do before. You really feel like a part of a family there. I have to drive out of my way a bit to get to this office now, but it's worth it to work with such good people.
PROS: Helpful, friendly people--not pushy at all.
CONS: Not located close to my home anymore.
We used Allen Mortgage when we refinanced most recently and found them to be far more efficient than the bank we used in the past. There were no hidden fees, everything was thoroughly explained and the refinance went very quickly. For closing, someone came to our home and signing papers took less than 20 minutes. We were impressed and sure to go back again someday. You can use their website for info or call, you don't have to leave home.
PROS: Fast refi for FHA loans, no cost, no hidden fees
CONS: They don't have a Phoenix office, so correspondence is via phone and email.
We've been here twice now, the people who work at Mind Over Splatter are very nice and helpful. They advertise specials all the time in the freebie Saturday paper, so you can usually get a reduced price on the sitting fee. So they charge a small fee to use their supplies, the sitting fee. Then you can choose any of their unfinished ceramicware (those are priced individually) and pick out your own glazes (paints) to finish your creation. It makes for fun gifts! You just have to come back a few days later to give them time to fire your project in their kiln. Everything turns out beautiful. The costs are reasonable. You can also do mosaics, we haven't tried that yet. Great activity for kids or adults!
PROS: Make creative, personalized gifts, easy to find downtown Chandler location
CONS: I'd like to see a bigger selection of things to paint
Two summers ago we were left stuck with a broken air conditioner. We called around and a friend recommended Trustworthy Services. They came out and gave us an estimate that was half the cost of another company that first came over. They completed the job as promised and we've had no problems since. I think this company doesn't advertise much but relies more on referrals from friends. They are definitely trustworthy!
PROS: Came out and did a great job, at a great price.
CONS: Didn't have a big ad in the phone book.
Two summers ago our air conditioning went out, July, on a Thursday. We were kind of desperate, but we were almost taken advantage of by a Minuteman Express representative. He came on Friday and said he could maybe get our part on Saturday. He made it appear that he was cutting us a great deal and gave us a $1500 repair quote. Our house was only 2 years old. We were shocked at the price, but in the sweltering heat were agreeable. The part did not end up available for that Saturday, which gave us time to ask around for a/c repair recommendations and as we called around we had several companies give us quotes for work done at HALF the cost Minutemen was going to charge us. Needless to say we did not have them come back and complete the work.
PROS: They came out the same day.
CONS: Tried to charge us double what most other companies would have charged.
This store is amazing! You can easily spend the whole day there if you don't get too tired of walking. The top floor has displays of everything you could possibly need for your home, furnishings, office, bedding, children's, the list goes on. Downstairs there are "odds and ends" to decorate your home. You'll find a garden area, kitchen, lighting, flooring, you just have to go to experience it for yourself. Stop upstairs for a nice, inexpensive meal and keep shopping more! If you need a snack, try the first floor. Also my kids love the free child care play area where they can stay for up to 90 min. They have fun and the grownups can shop alone for a while, can't beat that! The tricky part at times can be understanding the Swedish names for the items, a few can be hard to figure out. However there are salespeople everywhere to help you!
PROS: Unique, well-priced items for your home! Cool stuff!
CONS: This store is HUGE, it'll wear you out to walk thru it all in one day.
We get tempted by Fry's with their low prices, but have had very unsatisfactory purchases. The worst was a refrigerator that was delivered and turned out to be not working. Fry's sent out a repairman, who told us that refrigerator had been repaired before and he couldn't guarantee it ever working properly. We went thru a great deal of hassle to return it and when Fry's came, they ended up scraping up our linoleum floor. Then they denied that they had caused the damage. It was horrible dealing with them. The employees are rarely helpful while you're in the store. Many of the items on the shelf are store returns, and you'll always find a long line at the returns counter! Beware!
PROS: low prices
CONS: you get less than what you pay for, terrible customer service
We have only seen Dr. Novy once so far, but I was really impressed. She was very knowledgeable and related well with the kids. She was easy to talk to and took her time to make sure everything was discussed that needed to be. We definitely plan to go back and check out the new office. There were no billing problems, we used a copay with insurance, so I'm really not sure what the rates are or how they compare. We were able to get in for an appointment with ease.
PROS: very nice staff and friendly, intelligent doctor
CONS: none yet
I really liked Dr. Daly and her staff. They were very caring and they saw a lot of me during my difficult pregnancy. Dr. Daly delivered my youngest son and got us thru a tough labor as well. The downside is that her office is VERY busy and the waiting room does not accomodate all the patients. There was frequently a 1-2 hour wait before getting back to a room. Understandable as she has to go deliver babies once in a while.
PROS: knowledgeable and caring doctor and staff
CONS: long, long waits before you get in for your appointment
My youngest son was born at Chandler Regional and overall my experience was very pleasant. Believe it or not, I think the food was pretty good too (except for the last day). The maternity nurses were wonderful, such hard workers. I was there for a few days and only ran into one unpleasant nurse. I had an overall pretty comfortable stay and my newborn son was treated very well. As far as cost was concerned, all I can say is my insurance took care of it and I never saw a bill beyond my previous co-pays, so that was a blessing! I would definitely feel comfortable going back.
PROS: Caring nurses, close location...decent food.
CONS: nobody likes being in a hospital
