One visit to this multi level outfit landed us the china cabinet we were looking for. Very fair price and we may even have been able to negotiate a little bit. Buyer must be patient to look through the rows and rows of goods. THEN if you find what you want, find a sales person to help you tag the item. Do the paperwork/payment and then get them to move it on outta there for you. TONS of neat items. Worth a stop but I wouldn't want to be in there in case of earthquake. yikes.
Frog Hollow is on to something. You can pick up just about any gift item for just about any occasion at this place. Full of cards, candy, ribbon, cha, cha, cha, cha. Fill most any Easter basket, Christmas stocking or anything in that category and the recipients will be thrilled you did! Follow the garden adorned path up to the front door of this delightful shop.
I am not an afficionado in the flower department but everything I have seen leave this shop is spectacular. I suppose you get what you pay for but you will not be disappointed with a humble $25-$35 arrangement. Will brighten anyone's day. If you can splurge a bit more (or drop a hint) go for it. Keep their card in your wallet....or your husband's!
Volunteer Park is a fabulous old city park. The park is home to the original Seattle Art Museum which now houses the Seattle Asian Art Museum. A perfect few of the space needle and western skyline from the museum's front doorsteps. The playground and wading pool occupy with NorthEast entrance to the park. There is also plenty of greenspace in this park with a small stage area and the watertower is a fun hike if it is open. The observatory houses an abundance of plantlife and a tiny giftshop. Two tennis courts in the NW corner of the park along the lower roadway which could use a bit more patrolling in the early/late park hours.
The Roaring Mouse studio is charming and inviting for all. Schedule offers classes for the littlest artist as well as a creative array of classes after school for older kids. Well though and definitely needed in the mix of busy lives. Parking is very tricky so carpool or get there a few minutes early to nab a space. I don't know if there are adult classes but that would be nice!
This guy knows hardwood floors and will work HARD for you. Fairly priced and worth every penny. He has finished 3 sets of floors for us in 3 homes and we have been so happy. 4 children, dogs, pets, etc. and the finish has held up. You will have to be OUT OF THE HOUSE as the fumes are potent but so worth it.
If you are looking to reinvent your plantscape or landscape, don't miss consulting with this outfit. Full service to commercial or residential clients, they will also create a container garden for those lacking physical space. Fabulous imported pottery wares from Italy. Check their delicious website!
Can't say I'd visit this place again. The nail factory for those lacking an appointment at a more luxurious establishment but desparate to get 'em done. May as well soak your own and RELAX in your own home! Water was cold (could they have been out of hot water?) Technician was rough and speeding through the visit. Shipped off to folding chair to wait for nails to dry. They probably didn't want folks to stick around too long to see the filth lingering on everything. Yucky.
Great Jones Home is one of my favorite places to shop or just window shop. Lush and whimsical at the same time. Beautiful custom furniture and upholstered goods mixted in with fantastic antiques from home and abroad. Scattered in between this feast are fancy handmade cards, delicious smelling sundries, ribbon and oh so many other goodies. Don't overspend yourself as would be easy to do! Worth a visit.
Gasworks park is a funny place to visit but on a beautiful Seattle day is a nice destination. I'm uncertain about the history of this old and odd industrial "gas" park. The great hill is a fun climb for the kids but the odd industrial portion is off the path a bit and I'm not certain I trust the children playing in this area of the park. Anyways, stick with the hill, bring your kites and enjoy the view! Fun outing.
