Carmax replaced the transmission fluid in my mustang. Later, a leak was discovered on the housing next to the drain plug. Carmax is denying responsibility for this problem. Checking with two mechanics they told me cracks in the housing are caused when mechanics apply too much pressure when putting back the plug in the housing. Carmax referred me to lube company who had checked the condition of the transmission fluid in June, 2005. However, the lube company tells me they don't check the drain plug. The plug they used to check the fluid is fine. I am trying to have carmax repair this leak which is estimated to cost $1000.
