Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

When I attended undergraduate school at the University of Pittsburgh, I frequented the Carnegie Library for different research projects. The staff was always very helpful in assisting me in finding books. Also, since it is a public library, all the items are free. The have a user friendly website, in which you can request books be dropped off. I would recommend this library to anyone.

Dubois Book Store Inc

When I went to Kent, I always purchased my books here. You just hand the staff your schedule, and they get your books for you. They always get the right books and editions, and the prices are better than the campus book store. There is a shop above the bookstore for campus and Greek items, and they are reasonably priced as well. I still sell my books on the internet though, cause I get more money there.

Woodsy's Music Audio Video Inc

This is the place for all you music lovers out there. They offer lessons, and a wide variety of products. From Guitar pics and strings all the way to any type of musical instrument you can think of. The staff is courteous and helpful, and can answer any questions you may have regarding your musical instrument. The prices are decent, and overall it is a nice place to learn about and purchase music equipment.

Laundry 101

When I went to Kent, I always did my laundry here. The prices are a little higher than elsewhere, but you arent bored sitting there while waiting for your clothes. They have video games, food, and a full bar. The entertainment value is worth the extra quarter. Hang out, sit back, and enjoy. And dont forget to add fabric softener!

News & Photo Shop

This place is useful for several different reasons. Every once in a while I would need an out of date newspaper. This place keeps old newspapers and has them for purchase. Further, they develop photos of anything! The place has a wide array of magazines and other media, and even has a nice cigar selection. Check it out.

Color Me Mine

I went to color me mind one afternoon with a girlfriend. We had a wonderful time. It is a nice place to spend time to catch up with friends. When you arrive, you pick out a piece of pottery you would like to paint. They have all sorts of items, from dishes to picture frames. Then you paint the item you have picked out. They have special paint that is safe for food dishes. This would be a nice mothers day outing for something different.

Ball Henry B Mfg Jewelers

This jewelry store is very overpriced. The pieces were not overly unique, they may have been custom but I couldnt tell. The owner was rude to the staff, and generally had a rude demeanor. It took a long time to get waited on. In the end we decided not to buy from them, mainly because of the high prices.

Rainbow Family Book Center

Rainbows Book Store has been around as long as I can remember. It is a great store for your Christian needs. It has a wide variety of Bibles in different versions. Also, it has things that churches need such as offering baskets and choir robs. If there is something that you want and they do not have it, they are willing to order it for you. The staff is friendly and very helpful!

This place is where I got my senior photos done. They did excellent work. The backgrounds were nice, they had a lot of choices. They have changing facilities on site. There was no waiting when I got there, but I did have an appointment. The prices were reasonable. They were a little higher than normal, but worth it.

Downtown Jewelers

This place has some really unique pieces of jewelry. They make their own pieces, and can make custom pieces as well. The pieces they make are not only unique; they also attract the eye like no other. They have a way of creating a classic look with elegance that will catch the eye. The service was great, they really listened to what we wanted.
