David's Bridal has a bad reputation of poor service and my three visits at the Centerpointe David's Bridal have totally fit their reputation.
The first time I entered DB was in March 2003. I purchased a bridesmaid gown for a friend's wedding in FL. They shipped the wrong size, so I went to my local DB to exchange for the correct size. The ladies at the counter were very rude and basically said that it was my problem and I had to deal with it. They FINALLY sent me a new dress after a huge run around.
Then my sister ended up picking out bridesmaid dresses through DB. My experience with them was neither negative nor positive.
My third experience was in Oct 2005. We went there to look at bridesmaid dresses. Again, their staff was far from friendly or helpful. I felt like just another customer. When I said I wasn't interested in the particular dress they were showing me, the employee quickly walked away and never offered her help again.
My sister bought her wedding dress from Bridal Gallery for her April 2005 wedding. She had a great experience with this store.
However, I went there when shopping for my wedding dress in October 2005 and wasn't quite so pleased. The lady at the counter was NOT friendly when we walked into the store. She explained how the dresses were set up and in the process insulted one of my BM in terms of what size dress she would need. They require one of their employees to help you try on the dress which made me very uncomfortable. They finally agreed that my MOH could help me into my dress. The employee assigned me continued to bring in dresses for me that were totally against anything I'd ever wear.
The only positive to this store is they do have a decent selection of designer gowns. Also, like I mentioned before, my sister went with them and had very positive results. Maybe it's hit or miss there.
Bridal Lane is a small (very small) store in Dorr, MI. I made the mistake of going on a Saturday in Oct 2005. We arrived shortly after the store opened at 10am and the place was jammed packed. However, the fabulous employees didn't skip a beat. Every single employee there offered to help. They worked together so well. Even though the store was packed, they offered excellent service and spent a lot of time with my bridal party trying to find just the right shade of pink for my bridesmaid dresses.
The downsizes to this place are as follows: small store, bridesmaid dresses only come in stock size, wedding dresses pretty much only come in stock size. As a female who isn't "stock size" it's very frustrating to not be able to try on wedding dresses.
Bridal Lane is a great place to look if you need to find a wedding or bridesmaid dress! You won't be disappointed.
I went to Beckers Bridal in October 2005 to look for a wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. What a fabulous place! The location is way off the beaten path but it's worth the drive. They offer tons of designer wedding dresses in all sizes (0-28). They also have a huge selection of bridesmaid dresses but only have them in the stock size. The staff was very willing to help -- almost to the negative. If you are in need of a wedding or bridesmaid dress, I would check out Beckers Bridal in a heartbeat.
Byron Lakes Apartments are nice apartments if you are placed in the "new" section. The apartment complex added on additional units a couple years back and those buildings are much nicer. Rent is very moderately priced especially considering each apt has their own washer and dryer!! It's conveniently located off US 131 and the new M6 with ample parking spaces and carports.
Ramblewood Apartments are decent apartments. Their monthly rate are very moderately priced but you know the saying -- You Get What You Pay For -- which is exactly true with Ramblewood. It's a large apartment complex with most of the tenants being upper teens/low twenties or young couples with small children. Some of the positives are: they have many floor plans to chose from, large fitness center that is available to all residents at a monthly fee, and covered carports. Some of the negatives are: older buildings in need of some updating, the age range of many of the tenants, and because it's so large it's easy to lost in the complex due to the buildings all looking the same.
I've recently started taking my business to Ramblewood Hi Tone Drycleaning. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. It's centrally located on 44th Street near the RiverTown Crossings Mall. I have had nothing but positive encounters with them.
When you walked into Godwin Plumbing, you feel like you are walking into the small town plumbing store. The offer wonderful customer service and have a very knowledgeable staff. Their prices are very reasonably priced. I often go there to buy my Seven's paint, the guys in the painting department are always extremely friendly making sure I always get the right type and color paint. I've never encountered a single employee who isn't smiling or willing to help.
If you are looking for a contemporary Spirit-filled worship experience, Mars Hill is the place to go! Located in the old Grandville Mall, each Sunday this awesome church is filled with hundreds and hundreds of people. The church offers three services on Sunday 9am, 11am and 6pm. Each service has energetic singing and a powerful message. Pastor Rob Bell is a younger man with an enormous passion for Christ. His sermons are always filled with humor and ties to everyday life. The church offers nursery and Sunday School for children. It also offers many Bible studies and small groups for all ages throughout the week. If you are looking for a passionate church to worship at, look no further than Mars Hill.
I would definitely recommend this movie theater. It's a nice clean theater. The staff is always pleasant and friendly. The only downside to the theater is it's located inside the RiverTown Crossings Mall which is a major hang out for unsupervised teenagers. The noise tends to tend down once inside the theater though. The few times it's carried on into the movie, the staff has always been prompt to try to rectify the situation.
