Deserly Photography

San Antonio, TX Photographers 10/30/05: 'Amazing wedding photography'

We hired Deserly photography to photograph our wedding and reception, and were very happy with the way everything turned out. They are both great photographers, and on top of that they are easy to work with. Their packages and prints are affordable, and they really go out of their way to accomodate their customers.

Kiddie Park

San Antonio, TX Attractions - San Antonio, TX Party Planners 10/12/05: 'Great place for a kids party!'

A friend of mine had her daughter's birthday party here last year, and it was so much fun! It's a mini amusement park with a roller coaster, ferris wheel, and other rides built for the kids to ride (WITHOUT YOU! That's the best part!). It's gated, so you don't have to keep such a close eye on them at every second. The kids had a blast.

Luv-N-Care Child Development

My godson has been going to this daycare for 3 years, and although at times it's a little unorganized, I think overall it's a great center. The staff seems to really love the kids, and my godson learns so much! It's definately at the top of our list for a daycare when we have kids!

Great American Cookie

San Antonio, TX Bakeries 10/12/05: 'Wonderful jeweler!'

When looking for a wedding band to go with my engagement ring, I had trouble finding a band that would sit right with it. No one really even made an attempt to help me at any other jewelry store we went to, they all just offered the same suggestions (which didn't work). The people at Helzberg were very helpful, and we found the perfect ring right away! I was so frustrated until I found them! That will be the only jewelry store I shop at now (since the others pretty much showed me their employees have no idea about the merchandise).

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Alamo Drafthouse has become my husband's and my new favorite place to go to see a movie and have a good meal. The food is reasonably priced (like $6.95 for a 9 inch pizza), especially compared to movie theater food! And it's REALLY good. They play all the new movies, AND they serve alcohol. On top of all of that, it's 18 and up, so no kids will be kicking your seat!

Personal Touch Day Spa

San Antonio, TX Beauty & Spa - San Antonio, TX Spas 10/12/05: 'Personal Touch Day Spa'

I searched all over for an accomodating spa to take my bridal party and family to for a unique and relaxing day out the day before my wedding, and this spa was recommended to me. I contacted the owner to see if they could accomodate a group of 11, and she did better than that. She closed the place down for us! We all had massages, manicures, and pedicures, and everyone had a GREAT time! Everyone was so at ease. It was exactly what we needed to get rid of the stress! I 100% recommend them, especially for parties!

The Mane Studio

San Antonio, TX Beauty Salons 10/12/05: 'Great salon'

I wanted to get my hair highlighted the week before my wedding, and a friend recommended this salon. The beautician who did my hair was very helpful, helping me find the perfect colors to use, and she made it look very natural (exactly what I wanted) instead of chunky streaks. She trimmed and styled my hair, and I absolutely loved it! I didn't find out until later, but she also stayed over an hour past closing (I was there on a Saturday, when they close early) to accommodate me. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone.

Los Angeles Heights Prsbytrn

San Antonio, TX Presbyterian Churches 10/12/05: 'Very welcoming church'

I've attended a good number of different churches in my day, and a lot of them scare me off. I don't like the closed mindedness and negativity toward anything different that you get from a lot of churches/ministers. That was not the case at Los Angeles Heights Presbyterian. I attended a baptism there recently, and was pleasantly surprised at the reverend's energy. I found myself actually LISTENING to the sermon, rather than waiting for it to be over. It's a very small, friendly congregation, and my husband and I both felt very comfortable there.

Alamo Heights Baptist Church

San Antonio, TX Baptist Churches 10/12/05: 'Great church for a wedding!'

My husband and I were looking for a church to hold our wedding that would allow his brother (a minister with his own church in another town) to marry us. We came upon Alamo Heights Baptist, and are so happy we did. There are some things with the way the wedding day was organized (it was to rigid. My mother was made to go upstairs and wait with the other parents before I was even ready, where I would rather she have been able to stay and help me) that I didn't like, but over all, nothing big. The lady from the church that takes care of weddings was accomodating and allowed us to come in 2 days before the wedding to decorate, and again the day before for the rehearsal. She dealt with everything with the string trio, and had all of the parents and bridal party situated so i didn't have to worry about it. It was a wonderful day, and I couldn't have asked for more!

A J Travel Inc

We went through AJ Travel to book our honeymoon. Lyn Wolff, our travel agent, helped us by recommending areas and hotels and helping us to decide what activities to book ahead of time and what to leave to chance. I don't think I could have comfortably made these decisions (having never been to our destination before) without an expert opinion. She also tried different options to get us the very best deal possible.
