University Of California San Diego

San Diego, CA Colleges & Universities 09/06/05: 'Best school for research'

This school is one of the largest research facility in California. Also one of the largest schools. The weather is great and the people are great. If you have any interest in research this is the place for you. There are many intern opportunities with places like Pfizer and Qualcomm.

Ulta Salons & Cosmetics

La Jolla, CA Beauty Products 09/06/05: 'Become a club member for free and get free benefits'

This place is better tthan going to Macy's or any huge department store for cologne and cosmetics and all other personal care products. They have many varieties of things and have everyday sales. They also have the side gifts that come with cologne/perfume that you get at Macy's and other places but if you are a club member you can get free things upon how much you spend in the store. Where as at Macy's they dont care how much you spend...

Nguyen David S Dds

For vietnamese speaking parents, this place is a great place to get braces for your children or yourself. The Dr. Nguyen is a very friendly person and always listens to his patients. His rate for braces is cheaper than other places around here. His assistants are all bilingual and fully trained at helping patients. They are also open during the weekends for working people or commuting people. Weekends also happen to be the most busiest days but they hire more people too.

Huong Huong Food to Go-Bakery

This is a great place to go to for party platters if you're looking for a vietnamese theme. Their bbq pork and beef rolls are the best. I've ordered here for the past 5 years for parties. It's just quick and easy. However, they do require you to pay before they make your order so you've got to drive over there. The traffic there is just not fun and there is hardly any parking for this place.

Kim Tar Restaurant

Artesia, CA Seafood Restaurants 09/03/05: 'Good, cheap, quick'

Now this a place to eat when you only have five bucks in your pocket and want a good meal. They have great noodle dishes and a great bbq selection. Don't mind the C grade they have sometimes for cleanliness. In order to cook good food the kitchen has got to get a little messy.

Vietnam Garden Restaurant

Artesia, CA Vietnamese Restaurants 09/03/05: 'Vietnamese/ Chinese fusion'

This restaurant is a mix of vietamese and chinese dishes. Family owned so the service is always good. Small little restaurant so not good for big parties. Good for little family dinners. Their family dinner menu is pretty good. I always order the french style beef. They also have pho and other noodles dishes here too, but I haven't tried them yet. Probably good because their dinner entrees are good.

Loft Hawaiin Restaurant

Lakewood, CA Restaurants 09/03/05: 'Sweet and Sour'

The food here is pretty good. If you like sweet and sour anything this is a good place to eat. However, watch out for weekends, this place is packed if you're planning on dining in. It's a pretty small place. The price of the food is pretty cheap. Ranging from $5-8 an entree and $30 for family style dinners.

Pho Superbowl

Artesia, CA Vietnamese Restaurants 09/03/05: 'Best pho in town'

This place is probably the only pho place in town. However, it has very tasty pho and probably the closest to home made you can get until you drive to Garden Grove.

California State University Long Beach

Long Beach, CA Colleges & Universities 09/03/05: 'Rising Cal State'

Being a cal state always put you under a UC but this one has risen and has shown UC potential. It is one of the largest populated schools in CA and has many great programs. It is getting harder and harder to get into this school. Maybe one day this school will become a UC. For people who live near this university and have children going to college really consider having you child go here if they can get in. It can save you alot of money!

George Nye Jr Library

Lakewood, CA Libraries 09/03/05: 'Small cozy library'

This is one of the smaller libraries,so not much selection, but it is next to a baseball field and across a park. If you children need some outside play time you can drop them off and go inside a read if you want to stay inside. They also have a coupon clipping table where you can take whatever coupons you want to use for your next grocery trip.
