We were desperate...just moved to South Florida, my daughter was starting a brand new high school and her roots were looking like trailer-trash Barbie! We got a walk-in appointment at this store, which is located in Broward Mall. It's fancy-dancy name and hip furniture and music got us in there, and since it sold well-known products and had nicely dressed stylists, we assumed it would be a good place for my daughter to have her somewhat modern color redone. NOT!!! It was supposed to be easy...just match what had been done previously...no big deal, right? WRONG! The color "expert" decided that color was all wrong for my 16 year old, who didn't speak up for herself (she definately learned a lesson there!!). She tried three different color combinations before achieving what she thought was fabulous. Later that night, my husband said it looked like a dirty, old sasquatch. It literally had at least 5 shades of blonde, but there was no rhyme or reason to where the shading was done. Not natural at all. After 3 hours and $300, both me and my daughter were fighting back tears. We left and headed straight to Walgreens where I purchased a $10 box of Clairol and fixed her up as best I could, until we found someone by word of mouth that could fix her up. The only good thing that came of this situation was that she was definately the talk of the school for a couple of weeks. Everyone knew who she was!!
Prime Cut At Cooper City
Nice staff and good prices. I was able to get an appointment within a day or two of calling. The stylist was a home-town girl who was very friendly. The owner was very helpful when I wanted to purchase a specific product. The cut was good, the color great. Very affordable!!
McEnay Karen - Lakes Mall Dental
This office was filthy! Their waiting room sits about 2 people, so you have to sit out in the mall across from some cheesy stores while awaiting appointment. I was required to have three estimates before choosing an orthodontist, and this office had an open appointment, so we took it. Even with their open appointment, we waited over one hour to be called back, then another 45 minutes in the chair before the doc came in. All this for a 5 minute exam! He then came back with a quote, which admittedly was dirt-cheap. But, no way would I have my daughter get treatment in such a run-down dirty office. The doctor seemed apologetic about the office conditions, and even the staff commented that it was run-down and old. The staff was very friendly, though. The scheduler was one of the friendliest people I've ever met, and she sung the praises of the doctor. But I just couldn't get over the dirty chairs, so we went elsewhere.
Galbraith Alayna - Weston Endodontics
We interviewed this office as a potential takeover for my daugther's orthodontia care. Their orthodontist was very young and hip, and my daughter was impressed with her right away. However, the quote we received was very overpriced! Rather than work with my daughter's current prescription, the doctor wanted to remove and start over on her treatment. This would be fine and dandy if we had just started, but being well over a year into the treatment, it seemed rediculous. Especially since she admitted that she still had patients in that prescription anyway, she just was not putting new patients into them. She's probably very good for a brand new patient, but I think there are better deals out there. I think you're paying for the location of the office, not for the quality of service there. Definately not a "take-over" orthodontist, though!
Club Fit
I love this gym! The facility is airy and open. It's clean and modern. The staff is friendly and helpful. The personal trainers are knowledgeable and friendly, though a little pushy in their sales tactics. I feel very comfortable working out there. Their hours are convenient and they offer a variety of classes. Their prices are competitive, but don't be fall for their "this is a once in a lifetime deal"...they run the same deals over and over throughout the year, so you definately have time to think it over before signing on the dotted line!
Whole Foods Market
I am in love with this store. I can browse aisle after aisle, and always plan on at least an hour and a half for a visit there! Clean store, great selection and great prices! The staff is friendly and helpful. The products offered are varied from ordinary to exotic. I used to think Trader Joe's was the best, but Whole Foods Market definately has them beat for value and selection. Their bakery department is to die for!!
Fandel Ivar MD
Dr. Fandel's office staff is world-class! They are friendly, accomadating and sociable. The offices are somewhat older, but clean and kid-friendly. I feel Dr. Fandel has treated my children very effectively, however he does seem somewhat impatient with the parents. Sometimes, I feel he cuts me off and doesn't listen to my concerns. However, he has been dead-on with all his treatments, so so far, we're sticking with his office. His staff definately makes up for his lack of communication!
Christ Mark H Md - Uro-Medix Inc
Dr. Harvey Samowitz is a friendly, understanding and helpful doctor. His staff is very friendly and appointment times are very accomadating. Clean offices! I've had 2 appointments so far. The first time, my appointment was about 1/2 hour late. The second time, I was seen 1/2 early. He spends as much time as you need and answers all questions thoroughly. I am very pleased and feel my treatment is in good hands with Dr. Samowitz!
Craig Sultan DO
I was assigned Dr. Sultan as my PCM by Tri-Care. He is abysmal. His staff is rude, he is rude, his other patients are rude. Geez, the only nice thing I can say about him is that his office is clean and he takes my insurance. It takes at least a week (if not more) to see him, though, so he must be very busy. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I find too many of the doctors here in South Florida to be abrupt, unfriendly and not very helpful. I hope to change to another PCM very soon, and I definately would not recommend him at all!
Ralph Guarneri, M.D.
Dr. Guaneri is not a very friendly man. I wouldn't call him rude, but he is definately abrupt. His staff are even worse. I believe they're all related, which probably explains the tension in that office. I have not had surgery, so I cannot comment on his ability, however after sending me out for two tests, then ignoring my calls for the next 3 months, I probably will be shopping around for a different surgeon.
