Hole in One is an excellent place for people of all ages to go to and have a great time. It includes a "waterfall " hole. This golf corse reminds me of those "down the shore" and really has a great atmosphere to it. Very accomodating to children and families alike. It has an outdoor eating area, good food, and excellent prices. Its very clean and well kept, and the landscaping is beautiful! Definitly reccommend!
PROS: Clean, Generally Quiet, FUN!
The Philadelphia Zoo is an amazing place for animal lovers who hate seeing most other zoos "cramped" conditions. The "Great Apes" are a must see! They have every imaginable animal in large "natural" enclosures. The zoo keepers are very friendly and make sure that the animals are observed by the people but not disturbed. They will answer any question you have about any animal. They frequently have areas closed off because one various animal or another has given birth, which is an amazing courtesy to the animals because they try to stimulate the natrual "rearing" process.
It is a gigantic place that will take a full day ,, Maybe more to experience all they have to offer!
Petland Discounts would seem like a good bet to buy random pet supplies. Seeing as its a "chain" you'd think that their employees would be required to have common sense knowledge of their job, or of animals. The fishtanks are always green with dead fish floating up on top. The Small animals are cramped to the point they cannot turn around, the smell is overwhelming. The Employees are always walking around willing to help, but any simple question about anything will prove them to be uneducated in the animal field, and just generally not concerned for the well being of the animals.
Being a pet freak myself, I decided to stop by Cosmopawlitan to see what i can get to spoil my babies with.
When I walked in, i found a bunch of WAY overpriced clutter.
The items were supposed to be " designer " but when looking closer, you soon realize that Targets pet merchandise selection has more and its alot better looking . The staff seems stuck up, and talks down to customers. Being so "posh" you would think that they'd have a better selection, or higher quality merchandise for the prices they expect you to pay. Amazingly enough, i found one collar i thought would be okay until i looked at the price.. $80.00!!!!!!!!!!! i about choked, and went to Petsmart and found the same collar.. this time for $12.99
Wild Birds Unlimited is an amazing place for any Bird enthusiast. The staff are super nice, very helpful, and just want to educate anyone who is willing to listen. They have an amazing selection of bird baths, feeders, seeds, and bat houses. They will make sure you know what you want, if you don't, they'll give you ideas and suggestions, they help you with any "predator" problems, the place is just a generally great store.
PROS: Quiet, Clean, Friendly, Educational
When walking into Holmdel Vet you may feel like it's another "mom and pop shop". Looks can be very decieving. They offer 24 hour emergency service, they're very cost efficent and they have state of the art equiptment. The Staff are all helpful, friendly, and loving. Your able to get an appointment within a day or two for non emergencies, and their also very time efficent. No long waits in the waiting room. Everything is explained to you as its being done to your pet, and all questions you have they answer without hesiataion.
PROS: Clean, Fast, Efficent!
Community Animal Hospital is a very clean, friendly and knowlegeable place.
Though at times is seems quite costly, its worth it.
The Veterinarians and Staff are all very nice and really care about your pets well being. Located inside the clinic is also a grooming shop. The nice thing about that is, less stress on the pet because you can go to your vet appointment and scedule a grooming for right after so your pet doesn't have to deal with the aborhed drive to the vet . They also have an area for special foods, vitamins exc, incase its nessacary to accomidate your pets diet.
PROS: Grooming, Supplies, Great Vets.
CONS: a bit costly
Popcorn Park Zoo is a much needed addition to all animal parks. All of the animals are rescues of various sorts and you can read about each of the animals circumstances near their individual inclosures. You can tell a lot of time and patience goes into making sure that these animals are comfortable and living the lives they deserve. This is the only zoo i've been to that you can get up close and personal with the bears, tigers, lions, and monkeys. The zoo is very clean and offers "hand sanitizing stations" in a variety of areas because you can hand feed some of the animals popcorn !
PROS: Well deserved sanctuary for these abused animals
The Staten Island Zoo is an extremely small, but educational place. The animals are cared for, and seem happy.
This zoo is best for those with small children with limited attention spans, because of its size your in and out fairly quickly. Its very well maintained and clean. I would recommend this zoo for any one looking for a quick day trip.
PROS: Well cared for animals, clean!
CONS: Very Small!
Fat Kat Tattoo parlor is the best in the area. The tattoo artists spend alot of time making sure everything is flawless and just the way the customer wants it to be. The place is kept in immaculate condition and everything is sterile.
The artistic ability these guys have is astounding and i would not recommend going anywhere else.
They are as gentle as they possibly can be and if you need to take frequent breaks they do not hesitate to get up and get you a drink or let you take a smoke break or anything else until your comfortable to get going again. The only con is , they do such amazing work that you MUST make an appointment because they are constantly working on making more and more phenominal creations to last a lifetime
