Fat Slice Pizza

grab it and go, simple as that. Fat slice does not do anything different or amazing with their pizza but it is certainly dirt cheap. For less than $2.50 y ou can get a FATTT BIG slice of pizza and fill up for the afternoon or evening. This place is always busy at night too with the students out for the evening. I've bene there a couple times and its a little oily, but no one complains when you got the munchies.

I've been there once or twice for food at Blakes and the food is good, Blakes is the place to go to for the college scene on thursday nights. BE SURE TO GET IN BEFORE 11PM!! You can get in for like $3 but this also means getting there early or you're going to be stuck in the line way past 11pm. Also if you get in early theres more dancing room and you dont have to get all nasty and sweaty.

San Francisco, CA Restaurants 09/04/05: 'Good dirt cheap boba'

When you can get yourself some honey milk tea for less than 60 cents that is a dam good deal. I can run in there on a hot day, and when I don't feel like tapioca and need to get rid of some extra change I can get myself some milk tea. This isn't anything too extrodinary though, this is like any other boba place, but its convenient and fun to go to with friends.

Berkeley, CA Restaurants 09/04/05: 'Not fancy, but does the job.'

Right on Euclid next to campus this place always has a line going out the door when its lunch time. Thats the downside, but if you wait in line they have great sandwiches at great prices. You can get a good meal for under $5 here and a sandwich will fill me up till dinner time for $4. Tuesdays are the best when they have clam chowder and get the guy to make you the sandwich, he'll hook you up.

Bongo Burger

Berkeley, CA Restaurants 09/04/05: 'great burget, hurts the wallet'

When youre a starving student youre always looking for a good deal to eat...this certainly isnt one of them. Bongo Burger has quite a few selections to eat and the burgers are pretty good, but when a burger coke and fries costs you $7+, that just dosen't make any sense. I'd rather go for Carls or something like that for a few bucks less and leave bongo burger to all the crazy berekley liberals.

West Coast Pizza

back in the suburbs you're use to ordering only something like domonos and pizza hut, but however in berkeley there is quite a few pizza places to make a selection from. West Coast pizza is the place to get pizza from for all freshman, and especially if you have the best of berkeley guide. Get your hands on it and it will give you great pizza for those late nights when youre craving food in the dorms.

Cheese Board Pizza

Cheeseboard is a unique organization in itself. They do not havev multiple stores, they are not a chain and most of all they always have great pizza. All of their pizza is made fresh on the spot there and everyday they only make one type of pizza, I guarantee you though its good. Some people may say you can never eat enough, personally that dosen't go well for me, I can eat too much and get sick of it, but its pretty good.

Berkeley, CA Beauty Salons 09/04/05: 'General Haircut, but still a friendly environment.'

I've been a student in Berkeley for two years now and I live in LA. Ok so obvious problem, I need a haircut and I'm used to getting them at home but at the same time I don't know exactly who to go to to get it done. I checked out great clips and jenny helped me out, she was good, the price was decent and I'm happy. For a $14 haircut, it was good, and most of the places around Berkeley charge close to $20. Good deal.

Fenton's Creamery

Oakland, CA Family Restaurants 09/04/05: 'Fun place, good ice cream, long lines.'

Fenton's is the place to go when you want to take lots of people out for a good amoutn of ice cream for a good price. Being a student at Cal, we get 10% off but when you take a group of about 5-6 people and load yourself up with a jumbo platter of ice cream, everyone is going to be walking out of the store with an ice cream hangover. This is a fun place to go to with a group of friends, the ice cream is standard but a good selection, but expect to wait 20-40 min for a table on friday and saturday nights.

San Francisco, CA Misc. Foods Markets - San Francisco, CA Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Shops 09/04/05: 'Homemade Unique Ice Cream - Best in SF'

There isnt an ice cream shop in San Francisco that beats this one. Living in Berkeley, I'm NOT always in SF, but every time I find myself in the city I will go out of the way to get to Mitchells. Their tropical ice cream flavors are what make them famous, Mango being the best. All of it is homemade and nothing beats it. Check it out!
