This is a tough 9 hole course. It has small greens that are often tough to hit. Also, several of the par 4 or 5's have blind tee shots. The course was in very good condition however and there were not many people there so you could play at your own pace. The fee for the round is a little pricey but I'd say its worth a try if you've never been here before.
This is a short little 9 hole course that has about 5 par 3's on it. All of the par 4's are under 400 yards and a couple are reachable off the tee. When I have played the course it was not in very good shape and the greens fee was overpriced for the product I got.The fairways were overgrown and had alot of dried up/dead areas. The greens rolled terribly. I really would not recommend this course to anyone except beginners.
From the first time I played this course I have loved it. All the fairways and tee boxes are bent grass and generally kept in very good condition. The course is tough with alot of hazards. The greens are quite a challenge as well. Anyone in the central illinois area should make a trip out here for #9. It's probably the best par-5 I have ever played. Also, greens fees aren't too bad, but I recommend playing in the morning to save a little when possible.
The clubhouse has a nice party room for outings or gatherings and they are very accomidating for large groups.
I've taken about 3 years of classes at UIS and have enjoyed it as much as any other schools I've been to. The class sizes are very small and the professors are helpful. Also, I thought their tuition was very acceptable as compared to most other schools. Overall, I'd highly recommend this institution.
PROS: class sizes, price
CONS: not many majors available
