Atlanta Fixtures
I have been a customer of Atlanta Fixtures for several years now. Inside their massive warehouse, you can find just about any piece of food service equipment you might need whether it be a mixer, a fryer, a restaurant booth, knives, bowls, plates, etc. If they don't have it in stock, they will know where to find it. I have found their prices to be very reasonable and as I have said their quantity of in stock merchandise incredible. The location is very accessible, right off I-85 North.
The Wrens Nest
If you were fond of the B'rer Rabbit tales growing up, you have to check out the museum former home of the champion storyteller Joel Chandler Harris. If you are not familiar with Atlanta it might take you some maneuvering to find the house, but the journey is well worth it. Visiting the house takes you back to another era. You really get a chance to see how J.C. Harris lived and how it influenced his storytelling. The house itself is interesting in its own right, one of the few historical structures still standing in downtown Atlanta that hasn't been bulldozed for "progress".
St. Joseph's Hospital
Last month, I made my first visit for treatment at St. Josephs and was very happy with my medical care. I found the staff to be professional and caring. Located on "Pill Hill" (nickname for the cluster of hospitals and doctors offices) off I-285, St. Josephs has a beautiful inner atrium full of shops and businesses. The buildings are very easy to navigate once you have found a place to park inside the massive parking garage. The nurses kept me entertained even while I was undergoing various procedures.
northside hospital
I have been very happy with the care and treatment I have been provided at Northside Hospital. Both times that I have visited the emergency room at Northside, I have found the staff to be caring and the treatment to be effective. The emergency room has a nice large well lit waiting room with a nice view of the outside which is an asset when you are sick or streesed out. The hospital also has a well stocked cafeteria if you get a case of the munchies. While no one wants to get sick or injured, its nice to know there is a place to go where you can trust the staff to help you get better.
Henris Bakery
Whenever I need a cake for a special occasion, I always trust Henri's Bakery to get it right. They do an excellent job of decorating cakes. One of my friends introduced me to them a couple of years ago and after one bite of their birthday cake I have been hooked ever since. Be sure to check out their collection of danishes, croissants and cookies as well. The store is located conveniently off of Roswell Road in the heart of Sandy Springs.
Eye to Eye Vision Center
I have been a customer of eye to eye for the past four years. I have been very happy both with the quality of my eye exams, the choices of frames, and my vision after putting on my new glasses. Over the years, I have purchased three regular frames and lenses, plus one pair of sunglasses. With my insurance copays, I have found the price to be very reasonable. They have taken the time to make sure that my glasses fit properly and that I can see properly. The store is located next to the Publix on Abernathy.
Larry Jackson Numismatics Inc
I visited Larry Jackson after having the misfortune of going to a "in town for one week only" rare coin buyer service. The out of town buyers try to get my precious early 1800 solid gold coins for pennies on the dollar. You can imagine my relief when I went to Larry Jackson that afternoon and he gave me a fair bid (I knew the true value from the rare coin book). Not only that he also bought all of my other coin collectibles I had been saving over the years. The store is located on Roswell Road in the Fountain Oaks Kroger Shopping Center.
Binders Art Supplies & Frames
Binders is an excellent art supply store where you can get all of your shopping done in one stop. They have a vast selection of art supplies and also perform framing services. Their location off of Piedmont Rd. is very accessible to Buckhead. However, this location has not translated into exorbitant prices. I have found their prices to be very competitive with mail order houses. In addition, their level of personal service has made me a loyal customer. Binders offers special exhibits and training sessions throughout the year. This is also a good place to take your kids as they have a special area set aside for kids crafts.
Poster Hut
If you are looking for an out of the ordinary gift or alternative lifestyle knicknack, then the poster hut is probably the place to try. The store stocks a wide range of items from jewelry trinkets to love beads to incense. While the store doesn't offer anything that I would drive a long distance for, if you are on the Cheshire Bridge corridor and are looking for an inexpensive gift or novelty, this would be the place to stop.
Warren Karen L Md - Emory Clinic
I have used the Emory Clinic in Sandy Springs for my health care needs for the past ten years. I have used four different doctors and have been pleased with all of them. The clinic is easy to reach as it is just off GA-400. The clinic houses practices ranging from general practioners, to dermatolgists, to opticians. The staff has been both friendly and professional and I feel they have done a good job of looking after my health.
