This cafe near the University of Akron is a popular hangout for students and community. It is roomy, reasonably priced, and they offer a limited menu of tasty light meals and snacks. The smoking section is upstairs, which keeps the downstairs fairly smoke-free and comfortable.
PROS: Comfortable, reasonable prices, good coffee
CONS: during school year (U of A) often very crowded
This is one of the nicest Olive Garden Restaurants I have ever patronized. The food is delicious. The restaurant is well-organized, and service is fast and efficient. On a recent week-day, we had a server named Bob, and he was the best server, I have ever had anywhere. He was attentive without being bothersome, providing everything we requested quickly, efficiently and with a pleasant smile and a gracious attitude. Outstanding!
PROS: Great service, delicious food, reasonable prices
CONS: often wait to be seated
Jasper's is a nice restaurant, with good food. Their prices are reasonable, and their service is OK. There is really nothing that I would call outstanding about Jasper's. They have a number of specials each day, but we seldom get anything from theirr list of specials, because they are often very pricey (for our family). $16 - $20. Their are a number of reasonably priced items on their regular menu, including a few chicken dishes, pasta, and meatloaf. $9 - $12.
PROS: Convenient location (right off I-77)
CONS: servers are sometimes inattentive
Luna's has a large, all-American menu. Their fish fry on Wednesdays and Friday is my favorite thing. The fish is delicious and you have a choice of cod or perch, all you can eat. They have awesome desserts. There is nothing really unique about Luna's. It almost feels like a chain restaurant, like Denny's.
PROS: Good food, reasonable prices, where the locals eat.
Luigi's is an Akron favorite. It is located on Main Street, but it is separated from the rest of Main Street, so it can be difficult to find. One of the best things about Luigi's for our family is that it is open very late (until 3:00 a.m.). Although their pizza is highly rated by other Akron residents, it is not our favorite. I would rate their food as good, but not delicious. The service is good, friendly, and quick. The atmostphere is noisy, but the pictures, from Akron's history, on the walls are interesting. My favorite thing about Luigi's is the Italian bread that they serve while you wait for your other food.
PROS: Good food, late night service
CONS: Always a line, thick crust has a "doughy" taste
There is often a wait to get a table at this restaurant, but with the cooking being done in an open area where you can watch, the time goes quickly. It's very entertaining1 The food is delicious. I had my favorite, Fettucini Alfredo, and my daughters both had chicken dishes. Everything was great. The night we visited, there was a tableside singer, who would sing anything you liked in English, Latin or Italian. That was unique. We shared a tasty cheesecake dessert. The dining area is large and very noisy, but it was still an enjoyable evening.
PROS: Delicious food, entertaining atmosphere
CONS: Noisy, wait to be seated
Our family has visited this restaurant on several occasions. The food is good, the service is very friendly and quick. Their prices are very reasonable. It is always clean and neat when we go there. They have pitchers of water in a cooler, and a pot of tea on a table, for self-serving -- no charge.
PROS: Good food, friendly and quick service, free tea
CONS: small dining room
I have been going to the Hudson Acme for many years. I do not live near Hudson, (30 minutes away). It is worth the long drive for me to go there, although there are many other grocery stores (including other Acme stores) within minutes of where I live. The Hudson Acme has the nicest and most helpful staff. They are always pleasant, polite, and eager to help customers find what they need. The produce and the meat are the best quality. Everything in the store is neat, clean and well-organized. I have taken friends there to shop, because they think it's strange that I get so excited about a grocery store, but after they visit, they understand why.
PROS: Clean, organized, high quality, helpful staff, good sale prices
CONS: Evening shift is not as helpful, as day shift, but still good..
I have had older vehicles that required a lot of service. Some of the repairs were quite extensive. The service managers at Feeney McIntyre always went out of their way to make sure that they took care of every problem, but by offering advice on ways that I could have the problem repaired in a way that was less expensive. They have always been completely honest and fair with me, and the repairs have been done correctly. Many times, I have gone to them with minor problems and they repaired them at no charge. I can recommend them without reservation.
PROS: Reliable work, fair prices, honest
Our family eats at Aladdin's, at least, 4 times each week. Often , we go there just for soup. They have 6 or 7 different soups on their menu and every one is yummy and satisfying. One of my favorite items on the menu is the chicken pitza (it's on a crisp pita crust). The sauce on this pitza is addictive. Tangy and garlic-y, with grilled chicken and veggies. Their menu is huge, and we are trying to work our way through it item by item. So far, we have only had about 15 of their menu listings, but every single one was good. Their salads are huge and very tasty. My youngest daughter is a picky eater, but she loves the chicken len-chili (lentil soup and chicken chili in the same bowl), and the turkey wrap. Be sure to save room for their incredible desserts. Cakes, cheesecakes, baklava and more. There are other Aladdin's restaurants in Ohio, but this one is far superior to the others. It is very well managed and staffed.
PROS: Delicious food, quick service, affordable meals
CONS: Often crowded.
