Moyes Glass
I needed some parts for a sliding screen dor that goes between my kitchen and my deck. I called Moyes and they told me they carried what I needed. I was told to come down with some measurements and they could ord the part. My wife and I scheduled time off work as they are not open past business hours.
I went to the store and I told them what I needed and what I told another salesman. I was greated by a very rude unfriendly man. He told me don't have it, can't get it. Very abrupt. I told him I called prior. He then just reiterated the same thing, Dont Have it, Canot get it. Then after talking with him longer he said he might be able to get it.
Well by this point my blood pressure was already raising. I decided I had enouch and I took my business somewhere else. I didn't need the Store Motto of Don't have it, can't get it. I don't understand how these guys sell anything. I would only recommend these guys as a last resort. Oh and get used to the phrase "Dont' have it, Can't get it."
PROS: None
CONS: Poor Serivice, rude salesman. "Don't have it, Can't get it" attitude.
Hepworth Automotive Svc
I have taken my care to Hepworth Auto twice. They were seperate unrelated issues. They are always quick and make sure I understand the problem. They also tell me all my option and then let me decide how to best resolve. They do give me advice but I get to make the ultimate decision. One time I had a problem with spark plugs and wires, and then a problem with brakes. I was up and running the next day on both occasions. They do tend to be more expensive, but they don' t hide their fees like other places I have been. They are upfront. They do the job right the first time which is what makes it worth it to me.
PROS: Good workmanship. Fast.
CONS: Little Expensive
Wiseguys Comedy Cafe
Wiseguys is the local Comedy club in Ogden. Priort the name wiseguys we visited it as Laughs. It has since moved to a new location, which is nicer. Admission is $10.00 per person but we can always print of a 2 for 1 coupon on their website. They ask that you buy something from the snack bar as a cover.
The comedians are usually good. Sometimes it gets repititous and they rotate the same comedians. I have been there multiple times and I enjoy going back to see some of my favorites and the new comers. I just wish they would bring back the hypnotist shows
PROS: Fun. Firly inexpensive.
CONS: kind of in a bad part of town.
Nickelcade
Nickelcade is an arcade that uses nickels. There is a flat rate of $2.25 to get in. My wife and I frequently are able to find coupons for cheaper admissions. They have a lot of arcade games and ticket games for prizes. They also have air hockey and table soccer games. We can go in there with about Ten Dollars and spend several hours having fun. By that time we are usually ready to but we still have a good time. Its also a good place for kids, but I would recommend you supervise them.
PROS: Cheap Entertainment.
CONS: Some games are broken.
motor-vu
The Motor-Vu Drive in is the best way to see movies during the warm months in Utah. The Motor-Vu is the last of a few drive in theatres in Utah. Its a experience you must fo at least once.
The admission is $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. Not bad at all considering you are getting a double feature. There are four big screen and they do discourage hopping from screen to screen. The movies are usually paired well. They tend to be busy on weekend so get their early as to get a good seat.
You can bring in your own food and drink which is nice. My Wife and I bring in a pizza and pop and usually meet friends and we get a spot next to each other. They do also have the snack bar so you can buy pizza and other goodies. You will pay movie theatre prices though.
The sounds is piped through a FM System so if you car doesn't have FM you need to be ring a boombox. (Who doesn't have FM though? )
PROS: Double Feature. Bring your own food.
CONS: Busy on weekends.
Country Club Theatre
The Country Club Movie theatres is where all the movies take their final showing after playing in the big theatres. Admission is $2.00. They have just updated their surround sound system. Its not a bad place to see a movie. Sometimes the movies have visual distortions though. But you have to consider they have been run hundreds of times, if not more. Its not some placed I'd take a date to but it would be some place I'd go if I wasn't willing to pay $7.00 to see a movie, and I didn't want to wait for a rental.
PROS: Cheap Movies.
CONS: Movies with distortions.
Clark Planetarium
The Clarke Planetarium is located in the heart of the gateway shopping center. They have really cool exhibits such as the moon and mars pads to name a few. They also sport an iMax theatre and the moves are amazing. On weekend nights they do laser show to popular music like Pink Floyd and Classic Rock. Prices are abour $8.00 for that.
They also have a gift shop and many science related gizmos and gadgets. Its definitley worth dropping in just for that.
PROS: Education. Fun.
CONS: Busy
Living Planet Aquarium
The Living Planet Aquarium is located in the Gateway shopping center. Currently this is an exhibit of what we expect to be a much larger aquarium in the near future.
I took my daughter and wife to the exhibit and they loved it. My Daughter especially loved the shark tank. She would just stare in awe. They also have a stingray exhibit and you can touch them. Its very cool.
Considering this is not the complete aquarium they are planning on, I felt the prices where a bit much. Its $7.00 for audlts, and $4.00 for children. You can spend about an hour there without getting bored. There is also a gift shop.
PROS: Good for all ages.
CONS: Little expensive. Not the complete aquarium.
Evolution Hair
I have been going to evolution hair for a while to get hair cuts. They have many stylists to choose from. I always go to the same guy. They are very friendly and cut my hair the way I like it. Sometimes they are slow and appointments run longer than you expect. They seem to offer other services as well like golfing supplies and cell phones.
Classic rock is always playing when I get there. Cuts run about $15.00. I haven't had anything beyond that, but they do offer other services.
PROS: Decent prices, cut they way you want.
CONS: Sometimes slow, parking, next to a bar.
Terrace Muffler & Brake
We took our saturn to Terrace Muffler and Brake because our brakes were making noise. After we had them looked a they decided they needed to be replaced. They gave us what we believed was a fair estimate. The work was completed and then when we picked up the car the price had jumped $80.00. They gave us some spill about diagnostic fees etc... To bad they didn't bring that up in the beginning. I wasn't non to happy. The brakes were weird the first couple of days. One time I slammed on the brakes and they finally seemed to lock in, but not before almost hitting someone.
I don't know that I would go back as the pricing seemed to take a jump for no apparent reason other than lack of communication on their end. I feel like we may have been taken advantage of as my wife picked up the car. I have spoke with others who have no complaints though.
PROS: Good Work, service.
CONS: Poor Business practice. Price Jumps. Lack of communication.
