Century News & Tobacco
This store is such a suprise, they have newspapers from everywhere and sell cigarettes and cigars and candy and things... Not to big of a mark up on most things. I love to browse the racks just to see all the choices. If you don't have a local newsstand like this one you are missing out big time.
Bargain Bestsellers
They take trades and I never walk out empty handed. They have all the latest books as well as favorites. If you are a book love this place is for you. Call first they do keep short hours but are well worth the bother.
Century Plaza Beauty Salon
They mostly cut older womens hair . They aren't expensive and are right next to Cetury Village. They do a lovely wash and set and a pretty good cut. Try to call first they may have a waiting list.
Hillsboro Florist Inc
I sent a gift basket to my mother in NY, and she just loved it.Located close to Century Village makes it easy to find. Beautiful flowers and middle price range makes it worth looking. Staff are nice and helpful.
Clamsters Pub & Raw Bar
The place isn't big but the portions are a good size. The staff are friendly and I like to go there for lunches. I love their clam strips and margaritas. They aren't too pricy but they are a little hard to find. Try it you'll want to go back.
PROS: Good food and atmosphere
CONS: Hard to find a little
Randazo's Restaurant & Pzzr
Their pizza is ok but they are overpriced on just about everything. The place is located in a little plaza and has some outdoor seats for smoking. Their main dishes like baked ziti and meatballs and spagetti are not that good. They do make great canoloi. They close early so if you go it isn't a late night spot.
Palm Beach Community College
This college is located in the middle of Glades road east of I-95. They have great class and sports programs and aren't a lot of money to take. What I like most is the night classes I can take on this pretty campus close to home. The campus it's self isn't huge but, has ample parking and good security.
PROS: conveinent, inexpensive
CONS: not a lot of on campus housing
Condominium Owners Orgnztn
work in and live in the development themselves. This gives them insider knowledge. Located right by the main gate it is a small office with very busy people inside it. Hardly able to belive how fast they can sell a condo. I called up to check locations and was told they were all sold once to try back in a few days. The staff is very friendly.
PROS: on the grounds
CONS: they do get short of places to sell
Penn Dutch Meats
They make them in the store daily. The spinach- parmasean is so tatsy. They are great for sandwiches or just nibbling. The prices on meat are a lot less then Winn-Dixie, and the quality is better. Their rotisserie chickens are a great way to picnic and enjoy. They bakery is yummy and always having specials.
PROS: geat everything
CONS: hard to find parking
J & J Farms
This fruit stand has never disappointed me. Located right by Deer Creek and Century Village it is easy to get to. They always have fresh produce available that is just bursting with flavor, at great prices. Check this one out it's a don't miss if you like good fruit and vegetables.
