Cold Stone Creamery
The Cold Stone Creamery is a bit on the expensive side but can be worth a trip as a special treat. Your ice cream is scooped out and tossed onto a cold stone where it is flattened and just about anything is added into it. This is where the price goes up though because you pay for each item individually. Staff is expected to sing when they receive a tip so the atmosphere is festive and the singing wait staff is cute! They could use a few more tables though.
Szechuan Star Restaurant
The Szechuan Star has great lunch specials at very reasonable prices. They also have a private banquet room that I highly recomend! The prices were good, the service was out of this world, parking was ample and the room nice and clean. My baby shower was there two years ago and I know it will be the next place I host an outside the home party.
Charlie Brown's Steakhouse
Charlie Brown's Steakhouse in Lakewood is a large family oriented resturant with a great menu. The food and salad bar are always fresh and enjoyable. The resturant is often crowded so it is best to go off of peak hours. They do take reservations for groups of 8 or more and is always a great choice for a large group.
Burlington Coat Factory
The Burligton Coat factory in Freehold has a great variety of baby clothes, furniture, etc at prices much lower than Babies R Us. Because of the prices I recomend going there. However, their return policy doens't allow for cash back on any item so make sure you know exactly what you want. Also service tends to be very slow so be prepared to wait on long lines each time you hit the checkout.
Rt 9 Farmers Mkt Freehold Inc
I have always felt that suburban living made it nearly impossible to get good fresh produce at reasonable prices. We didn't have the great farmers markets found in major cities nor do we have the rural produce stands right on the farm. My weekly trips to the Rt 9 Farmer's Market have changed my mind. They have a great variety each day and very reasonable prices. They also have great bread and now offer a deli dept. which I have yet to try. Fresh flower arrangements are also sold at great prices. Definitely worth a trip when you are in the area.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Str
If you are in the mood for "country classic meals" Cracker Barrel is a great place to go. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner there are many options as to what you can eat. The country store provides great things to look at and entertain the children while waiting for a table. Normally, the wait time isn't too bad and the service is friendly and efficient.
Green Blade Repair Shop Inc
In the days of big business, Green Blade offers personal service lost in today's world. When you would rather fix than replace something, the owners will help you make the right decision and find the right products. Service is wonderful!
Mug Rack
The Mug Rack is someplace only frequesnted by Jackson residents but most have been going there for years. It is a popular spot to meet after church for breakfast. The food and prices are good. Despite the fact that the atmosphere leaves much to be desired it has a cozy and homey feeling that residents have enjoyed for years.
Woodlake Country Club
I recently hosted a bridal shower brunch at the Woodlake Country Club. I found that it was very reasonably priced and I was even able to afford to add an omlette station to my package. They worked with me to include things I wanted at a price I could afford. The staff was very helpful and professional and I would highly recomend holding an event in this facility.
The Picture People
it will cost you an arm and a leg. They are always way behind schedule and you never really get your pictures back in an hour. I have stopped frequenting this store because it seems that each time I go in the prices have gone up and the chaos has increased. That said, some of the most beautiful portraits of my daughter were taken there.
