Ron & Dave's Tattooing
These guys were amazing. It was my first tattoo and they were very kind towards my nervous small talk and bantering. Most importantly, they addressed all of my questions and duplicated the drawing I brought in perfectly. I had not one complaint.
Forest Animal Hospital
This place is amazing. The doctor and his staff are kind, patient, knowledgeable, & personable. The prices are beyond fair - especially considering the service you're getting- and the hospital is very clean. I have NEVER had a bad experience. They're in this profession because they love animals and want to help them - they are by no means in it for the money. Because of this you're offered the best treatment and complete honesty of the situation.
Hoboken Animal Hospital
I've been here many times when I lived in Hoboken. My exotic was sexed wrong.. three times. They kept telling me that it wasn't mature enough to sex... even though by this point she was 6 weeks old. I finally just went elsewhere (they insisted they wanted to neuter her even though I was convinced this was IMPOSSIBLE - I was right). Also, I've always felt that they don't take the owners input into consideration. You know your pet's personality & conditions. A good vet will take this into consideration when deciding treatment. This fact alone cost me the life of my cat. Their prices are a crazy rip off for the service (or lack there of).
Mesa Grill
I love the place. From my experience, the food is always cooked precisely how you order it.. and the sides perfectly complement the main entree. The pork tenderloin is to die for and the wait staff are always very attentive. Also, its right by Union Square so theres always something to do afterwards when you're trying to walk it off.
Dippers
The bartenders are pretty chill. During the weekends they have AMAZING drink specials (check out "Midnight Madness"). The crowd tends to be a mix of Stevens kids and young hobokenites. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
Willie Mc Bride's
I like the atmosphere, so that gets 4 stars. However, I've gone to 4 open bar parties at this point and each time a) the bartenders would stop serving you 5 minutes before the time they're supposed to and b) one of my friends always ends up getting into a "tiff" with a bartender. But, I'm sure this could also be the fault of my rowdy friends. The actual bar itself is nice, the prices are average.. and I've never had a problem. The open bar room is spacious so it makes a great place for a party.
Via Mode Boutique
So I'm trying to find shoes that match this dress I have to wear as a brides maid. Dye-ables usually are expensive.. and ugly. So I go there with my fabric swatch and find a pair of shoes that match.. Point is, the staff was super helpful and put up with me being there for an hour trying on shoes and holding my swatch in different lighting etc. They were very helpful. The prices aren't bad either, especially because the shoes are so cute.
A F Bennett Wellness Spa Inc
I went here for a massage and the people here are so nice and friendly. In addition to "wellness" packages, it is also a full service salon that has waxing, tanning, & hair care, so you'll find whatever you need here. They sell gift certificates too, which make for a good gift idea.
I Trulli
This place was great. The bread served, as well as the spread, is so delicious. The appetizers were great and the entrees were very flavorful. The portions are generous and you'll definitely leave fulfilled.
Blue Water Grill
I've been here four times and each time I left happy. The menu is definitely diverse in terms of types of selection - sushi, raw bar, pasta, etc. The food is served elegantly and the chefs were innovative with flavor. Though they have prix fixe menus, I'd skip over them and just throw down the money so that you can properly explore the menu and not limit yourself.. thats just my suggestion though. The prix fixe menu was pretty good too.
