I was told the Trader's Village Flea Market was great place to get good deals. It is an open air market that is just mainly junk. It is cheap knock off items, posters and gargage sale type items. There are a lot of hispanic dealers and it seems to be leaning more to cater to that demographic. I was not impressed at all and think you can find better deals on that stuff at the dollar store. I would not recommend it to anyone unless you are looking for cheap knock off items.
School Zone is a great idea that the Arlington school district has put into action. Students work in the store and learn how to market and sell merchandise. All the items are school related and they do have some cute t-shirts, car stickers, sweatshirts and such for students. The prices are good and the students made great clerks and were very helpful. The store is in the mall and that is the only negative.
If you are looking for a trampoline- this is the place to get a high quality one. We bought our first one here because they have the highest in quality and the staff knew what they were talking about when it came to trampolines. They carry all the pads (a must have) and safety items for the trampolines. They will tell you how to keep them clean and in good condition. The staff was very very knowlegable and helpful with our purchase. We have gone back to get more pads and a couple of springs and will go back anytime we need more trampolines!
Heavenly Sleep Shoppe is a great place to find a bed! The staff knows their beds because that iw all they sell- it isn't like the department stores where they don't know everything about their beds. Heavenly Sleep Shoppe has the best staff and they spend hours with you helping you find the perfect bed. They let you lie down on them and try them out. They can tell you everything about them and their warranties. If you are looking for a bed- this is the place to go!
June's Dancewear is a small store that is packed full of dance shoes, dance wear, bags, tights, etc. Basically everything a young or intermediate dancer would need. They have a very good selection of shoes for different styles of dance (ballet, tap, jazz, etc). The clothing is limited and they don't carry a wide variety of sizes (not a lot of larger sizes). They are a little more expensive than what you can find on-line but you save on shipping by buying it locally.
Stacey's Furniture is a furniture store for those who love to look at furniture and have a wide selection. The store goes on forever and is an upstairs downstairs showroom. They have a child play area and even have a cafe for taking a break from all the looking at the furniture. It seems they specialize in living room and kids room furniture. They do have some of the cutest bunk beds I have ever seen. The prices are good for the quality you get.
If you are looking for fansy and wonderful chocolate- this is the place. When you walk in, the smell is wonderful. They have some very unique gifts that are priced well. They have chocolate sets for a lot of professions (hairdressing, police officers, etc) that any one would love. Most of their chocolate is sold by the pound or portion of a pound. They also have a location in Grapevine on Main street.
Asel Art Supply is a true art store. I love to go in and wonder around looking at all the brushes, paints, canvases, etc. I love to oil paint and this is the best place to get oils. They have the largest selection of colors and the prices are very good. The store is a little small but it is packed with art supplies. Their seleciton of canvases and paints are well worth going to the store for!
Knick Knacks in Arlington is a neat store where you can wonder around for hours looking at all the little stalls (each is maintained by the person who rents it). They have lots of antiques and collectibles and a lot of crafts. Everytime you are there - there is something different. I never leave empty handed. There are a lot of "smalls" there that are a good price and hard to find little items. The staff is nice and a lot of time you can find people who have booths in the mall wondering around and they can be very helpful too!
The City of Grapevine Library is an excellent local library. They have a huge children's area that is decorated for the kids. There is also a huge book on tape/CD section that is very good! They staff is very friendly and they always have a generous number of copies of new released books. They will reserve them for you. You can also renew your book on-line (with your library card) and check to see if the book you want is at the library!
