Artistic Grace Academy

Our family has attended classes at Artistic Grace. It isn't the most difficult in terms of classes, especially the ballet, but the owners are Christians & the recital pieces are tasteful compared to some others. I would recommend them, unless your kids want to become ballerinas or tap dancers one day, then I would go for a more specialized school.

PROS: Convenient, Conservative
CONS: Not specialized in ballet

Big Baby Boutique

I've tried this store several times, both selling clothes and buying. The offers on used clothing are ok, but their prices for resale are much higher than other stores. A onesie from Target might run you $4.00, almost the same price you'd pay for new. I keep hoping it will get better because it's the closest store like this to my home, but for now I'd still make the drive to Once Upon a Child or another resale shop!

PROS: Close to home
CONS: Overpriced, not a great selection

Kismet Hair Design

I've used Stephanie Wesson at Kismet Hair Salon for a long time. I've also had my nails done there and was impressed with the quality of their products. Stephanie is a pleasure to go to and always does an amazing job with my hair. She's a little hard to get in to see, as most good hairdressers are, but worth it. Her prices are reasonable and she's just awesome!

PROS: Great personality and professionalism
CONS: Hard to book with

King's School of Appliance Repair

King's is a school as well as an appliance repair shop. They have done great work for us. The only drawback is that it is owner operated & sometimes he is too booked and can't do same day repairs. We were very pleased with the repair work at a reasonable price, but did not get the level of customer service usually associated with larger companies.

PROS: Reasonable prices, locally owned
CONS: Slow response time

Executive Realty

We've used Tanda Stringfellow of Executive Realty twice now--once purchasing and now selling our current home. She has been a joy to work with. She listens to what you're looking for & doesn't waste your time with listings that aren't in your budget, etc. She's great to work with and her office is always there to answer questions for us!

PROS: Great personality and professionalism
CONS: None!

Brown's Auto Ctr

We always felt like we were getting ripped off when we had our cars worked on until a friend recommended Brown's to us. They did a great job, came in under the price they quoted & had it done in a day. It's been 4 years and we still take our cars there for just about everything. We've always been happy with the level of service and their integrity. They will explain everything thoroughly and let you know if the repair is really necessary. We love them & highly recommend them!

PROS: Fast, Fair pricing, honest
CONS: None!

Quality Surplus Inc

We bought several cabinets from Quality Surplus to match what our builder put in the house, an island and some bathroom cabinets. All in all it was a good experience, but we had some problems along the way. I ordered one size cabinet & they ordered me a larger one, so when we tried to put it in the bathroom it wouldn't even fit through the door. They got us the right one eventually, but it was a mess. Otherwise, the cabinets were fine, and reasonably priced, but make sure you know what you're getting ahead of time to avoid situations like ours!

PROS: Inexpensive
CONS: No service, you have to know what you want & pick it up yourself.

C & C Car Co

We bought a car out of the paper thinking we were buying it from an individual. Then we found out it was really owned by C & C, and we had to pay part of the money to the guy who placed the ad & part to C & C. It seemed a little shady to me. There were some problems with the truck & they promised the guy who advertised it would fix them, but he never returned our calls. Don't buy from them if you can help it!

Prosperity Bank

GNB became our bank when we moved into town. They have been courteous & professional. We just started using their online banking with bill pay, which is a free service. Overall we've been pleased with the level of service there.

PROS: Courteous & convenient
CONS: Only a few branches, don't have them in Denton or Dallas

Runnells John C Dc

Dr. Runnells and his staff were great-explained everything along the way and were very reasonably priced. His staff was very friendly and competent. The only con was that he doesn't accept some insurance plans, but his cash prices are fairly low. I plan to continue seeing him as needed and would recommend him to others.

PROS: Experienced, explains how things work, low priced
CONS: Isn't in network for our health plan
