most people do like this small place. I am just not crazy about their style of Italian cooking. The sauce always seems a bit runny to me on all of their pasta dishes and the crust on their pizza is always to thick for my taste. Not bad tasting food and they have been around for years but I've have better.
Vinces has been around for years and has some of the best delivery pizza in the area. They always run great specials, have nice fast delivery, no scary looking delivery people, pizza is always delivered hot and fresh and if by some small chance they mess up your order they are very accomodating in fixing it up for you. They go out of their way with customer service. Funny I hear they have a restaurant but I've only had delivery from them.
Personally I'm not to crazy about their pizza but that is just me. But for some really good, cooked by Mom Italian food? Yep...this is the place! From the outside you would never know it but they do have a quite charming little...and I do mean little dining area. "Tina" herself will often come out and pull up a chair and sit and chat with you when she isn't in back cooking! She takes great pride in her food and makes sure it is right. Try this place you won't be disappointed.
Danny's not only has great pizza but they have some very good Italian food also along with some good sandwiches. Good variety of sides also with sandwiches, I like that you can get a small pasta with your sandwich. They are also very friendly here to....treat you like family...nice reasonable prices to.
This location has been around for years and outdoes any of the chains that they have opened up in the past few years. I have been going here since I was a kid and continue to frequent it when I am in town. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants an original Chicago pizza.
This is a public school for Central Stickney residents only which encompasses a a very small area (4 blocks by approx. 8 blocks) all of the taxes from a very large industrial area go to this school. The have a very low student/teacher ratio, and alot of state of the art teaching aids here. I attended this school and am no worse for wear!!
This is actually a very nice little bar. It is Polish owned and they do put out some really good little snacks in the afternoons. They get alot of workers from the factory area but it still has that mom and pop feel to it. Very friendly staff also, they do aim to please here and very reasonable drink prices.
Very small place that has been around for years, beats out the chain sub places by far. You get a good amount of meat and cheese on your subs and not just loaded with "salad". Very good deli pickles also. I've stoped in there for just a pickle at times!! OK...a bit strange but they are good. Next time your in the area, do check them out.
This is not a bad little place for a bowl of chili, or a quick sandwich. They seem to have a good lunch crowd here and an evening bar crowd. But I must say, they are not as good as the original Lindy's Chili on Archer and Western, so I'd make the trip.
This place has been around for years, they are a little on the pricey side and I won't pay it unless I wanted to go local for chinese food and dine in. Otherwise would always get carry outs. They do have some good lunch specials tho, more worth your while than the dinners for to gos.
