I have been going to First Edition off on for almost 15 years. The stylist had for 10 years left and I have tried several different stylists since then. I have very curly hair and they do not have a good stylist who understands curly hair. I have gotten my hair highlighted there once and I had go back and get it redone. The place has a young college girl feel to and it doesnt have the refinement, I am looking for. The good thing is that they have Aveda products.
This is my childs first year in school and so far we think Glenn is a great elementary school. The principal is a wonderful woman who takes times to get to know all the children. The teaching staff seems to enjoy what they are doing. The class-size is a good student to teacher ratio. The PTO committee seems very involved too. The only bad thing is Glenn does not have air conditioning, so it can be very hot for the students in the summer time.
I have shopped at sweet repeats a couple of times and both times I have walked away a little disappointed. The selection and prices that they have for boys clothing is lacking in comparison to girls. I was looking for school clothes for my son who is five and I was unsuccessful in finding anything of value in his size. They do have a wide selection of girls and boy newborn 3t. Prices are a little high.
The School Shop is truly a great resource for all education needs for young children. I am a stay at home parent and I have purchased many fun educational tools for my children. They also carry Thomas the Train items and I was looking for a specific piece and they had it, it was on sale too. Great staff and reasonable prices.
The Gingerbread House is place that is crammed packed with toys of all kinds. They have so many toys that it is hard to see everything in one visit. Thankfully they have a wonderful staff that know almost everything that they have. This is a great place to buy educational toys for homeschooling.
The Music Shoppe is a great little store in down town Normal. We are going to buy our sons first guitar from them. (he is turning 6 ) We will also be signing him up lessons through them too. He is very excited about lessons and the people at The Music Shoppe are very enthusiastic about what they do and are also great with kids.
Commerce Bank is where we opened our account 15 years ago. They are a good bank. We have our checking with them and use their check card service. The service is pretty friendly and there is several Commerce Banks around town. They have a lot of different services. You can access your account on line and check balances, do transfers and pay bills.
Crossroads Global Handcraft store is very unique. I do not think there is another store in town like it. They have items that are hand made from all over the world. Some of the items have a short story that describes who and how they made it. When you purchase an item you are helping support someone in a different country.
Mings Buffet offers the greatest Chinese buffet in town. Although a little pricey, around 12 dollars per person, they have everything you could imagine. Everything tastes and looks delicious but be careful you can get a bit glutinous there. Everything tastes so good you want to try it all and by the end of the night you feel like you are going to burst!
Euro Tan is the best place to go for tanning. They offer the best deal for your money. They also have many beds upgrade beds. You can buy a tanning package usually for around 30 dollars and if you want you can upgrade to a different bed for only a few dollars more. They also offer many lotions and other accessories. Great place to go, no need for appointment either.
