Arrowhead Towing is a towing service/service station that has been around for years. They have an excellent reputation for being honest, good workmanship, and friendly service. They have several mechanics on-duty during business hours and towing service 24/7. They offer general vehicle repairs as well as routine maintenance, tire sales, and vehicle emmisions inspections. You can trust Arrowhead Towing with all of your vehicle needs.
Carolina Residential Mortgage offers exactly what the name suggests: Mortgage services. They have a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff to work with you whether you're buying or refinancing. They work with all types of loans and can suggest which loan is right for you. I found that they will work with loans that many companies consider too much of a hassle (like VA loans), and they will help you from the onset of your venture until closing. I highly recommend considering Carolina Residential Mortgage if you want to buy or refinance a home.
Kernodle Clinic Elon is a doctors office for people of all ages. There is a general practice side and a pediatric side at this particular office. I am familiar with the pediatric side and I have to say this is one of the best pediatric doctors around. With visits scheduled by appointment or walk-in, weekend hours, and doctors on call 24/7, there is always help available for your medical needs. The doctors here make you feel at home with televisions in the waiting room for adults and children, friendly and helpful staff and nurses, and compassion for you, your family members, and your specific needs.
North Graham Elementary is a small K-5 public school. The school has received a failing grade according to the No Child Left Behind act for two consecutive years, meaning that a parent who has a child attending this school can opt for a different school for their child. It seems there is a lack of communication between teachers and staff with parents about their childs performance and progress. This hinders the parents ability to work with their child on problem areas at home and is probably a big part of the reason the school continues to fail.
J & G bar-b-que in Haw River, NC is one of a handful of restaurants in the small town. As such, there was no wonder when there was a public outcry in the local papers when the decision was made to close the doors on the establishment in 2004. Well, someone came along and decided to save the place and keep it as it was. I decided to give it a try and lo and behold... I was disappointed. When I got out of my vehicle, the odor from the dumpster right beside the place was overwhelming. Once inside, I placed my order after a bit of a wait. The place was way too cramped and I had to keep moving around to let people get by me. The restroom facility was outside (I guess they had no other place to put it) and reminded me of my great grandma's outhouse. Then finally, the food came. The order wasn't accurate, and the food was subpar at best. Stay away if you can.
Hurseys Bar B Q is a bit of a staple in the Burlington area. Most folks from the area will throw Hurseys into a bar-b-que argument in a heartbeat, but I must say it is by far the worst bar-b-que I have ever had. With an uncomforatable dining area, I would at least expect the bar-b-que to live up to its hype. Don't believe the hype. The bar-b-que is expensive, it is bland with no sauce added during cooking, and the sauce on the table looks a whole lot like vegetable oil and tastes similar too. When I asked about sauce for the bar-b-que I just got a puzzled look as if my waitress had never heard of sauce. Don't waste your time and money here.
Jims Hot Dog is a great place for the family to eat a delicious meal and have some money left over when it's all said and done. They offer hotdogs, hamburger, fries, shakes, sundaes, etc. The staff is quick, courteous, and eager to make your dining experience unforgetful. The only downside is the dining area, where seating is limited and often full when the place gets busy. Don't let that turn you away though, because Jim has the best hot dogs in town!
I tagged along with my in-laws as they had the unfortunate experience of having to prepare a funeral for a loved one. Apparently they always use Rich & Thompson Funeral Service when such events occur. At first site, this was probably the most beautiful funeral home I had ever seen. It seemed a fitting place to carry out the ritual with respect and dignity. However, when behind closed doors with the Funeral directors I saw a different side of the business. The funeral directors/staff were rude, arrogant, and down right pushy in the sense that a car dealer would be. I will not go into specifics here, but I will say that this is a beautiful funeral home, but don't expect the staff to be sympathetic.
Skids is one of several traditional style diners popular in the Burlington, N.C. area. It's pretty much a burger and fries type of place in 1950's diner style. You can go in or if you so choose you can have your food brought to your care just like the drive-ins from decades ago. Only one problem so far that I have found and that is: I have eaten here only once after trying to eat here several times. Only on one occasion did I actually get my food before waiting so long I got frustrated and left. If you have the extra time go ahead and try skids, but I will never go back.
Mike's Deli is a traditional sandwich shop with the usual sub varieties and chips and drink combos. They offer delivery services with minimum orders for those that don't want to venture out of the house. In the restaurant it sometimes seems that "Mike" is the only one there as they do not have a large staff. This does not take away from the service from what I have experienced so far.
