Mayberry's Restaurant and Ice Cream Creations gives you the feel of the fictional television town of its namesake. When you walk in and see the soda fountain, it feels like you have taken a step back in time. The food is okay, but it is the ice cream that lures folks to Mayberry's. They offer a wide variety of flavors which can be used for floats, shakes, splits, cones, etc. If you must eat "real" food while here, be prepared to open up your wallet real wide.
Monterrey Mexican Restaurant offers a casual dining experience at a casual price. The food is excellent and the menu options are typical of a traditional Mexican restaurant. The restaurant has seating available for those who wish to watch TV and those who don't. The volume of the TV's does not interfere with the dining experience. The wait staff is extremely courteous, fast, and accomodating. The only downside is when it gets full, things tend to get a little cramped.
Wholly Guacamole is the newest edition of Mexican themed restaurants in Burlington, N.C. The state of the art restaurant offers a fine dining experience from a typical menu of a traditional Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere appears to be semi-formal, but casual folks are welcome here. The food is excellent, as is the service, but hold on to your wallet because as the old saying goes: "You get what you pay for".
Colonial Mall (name has changed very recently) offers major department stores J.C. Penneys, Belks, and Sears as well as specialty stores such as: Bath & Body Works, Regis Salon, KB Toys, etc. The food selection is very limited with only Chick-Fil-A, Katie's, Holy Guacamole, and a Chinese food restaurant as available choices. The mall is okay for some Saturday afternoon shopping, but you will find that it is not on the grand scale most think of when thinking of shopping malls. If you're really bored, I would recommend doing something else besides shopping here.
Zacks hot dogs... where do I begin? Here's the skinny. Zack's has terrific food, and they almost seem to have it done before you even finish ordering it. Both of which are pluses. However, don't expect friendly service. If you dare go into Zack's, and let's say they mess your order up, and then you decide to confront whoever is running the register about the mistake. My advice would be to duck before a hot dog all the way comes hurling at your head. Again, great food fast, but don't look the person at the register in the eye!
Colonial Hardware will make you yearn for the good ole' days. With a country store atmosphere and historical downtown Graham location, you will feel like you have gone back in time. Don't let the feeling fool you though, because this store has all the ammenities of the modern chain stores, but with a personal touch. From designer keys to enviro-friendly pest control, they have it all, including knowledgeable and friendly staff eager to take care of all of your hardware needs.
Putt Putt Golf & Games is a great place for the family to go to have a night of fun without cleaning out the old wallet. They offer a video arcade, snack bar, and of course miniature golf. They offer two 18-hole courses that will challenge even the best miniature golfer. Be careful though, it is right beside a major roadway and aggressive golfers may want to tone it down a bit so that no property gets damaged.
The Paper Factory isn't what the name suggests, but rather a party supply store. No matter what the occasion, traditional or just something you made up yourself, they have what you need. Most requests can be handled on a moments notice, so if you wake up one morning and need party supplies in a hurry, this is the place to go.
Angelenias Florist and Tanning pretty much gives away what they offer in the name. It is an odd combination, but hey, in today's world you have to diversify. Besides, when the idea of becoming a florist came about someone must have asked the question "Well, what about these tanning beds we have laying around?" Anyway, I can't really speak for the tanning aspect, but it's probably the usual intense UV light for 10 minute sessions. As for the florist, I have been to Angelenias twice for their services. I found that you are on your own for picking arrangements and must inquire to find out the pricing. Everything seems a bit unorganized. I also found out that some guy uses his truck to deliver the flowers, and the second time I went his truck was broke down and the flowers never made it. I was notified of this DURING the funeral procession. I don't know what else to say.
The Centre of Performing Arts offers dance Instruction for all ages and, conveniently, a dance supply store. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgable with many years of experience. If you or someone you know has an interest in learning some of the finer points of dance, I recommend Centre of Performing Arts. Be careful though, this can become a bit costly so you want to be sure of exactly what you want to do before "waltzing" in.
