When you want to go to a spa - you think of quiet times - relaxing music and a felling of ecstasy. That is NOT what we found at the Natural Marvel Spa in Apex. The place was dirty and looked unkept. We only went there as we had a certificate for a couples massage. The massage therapist chatted amongst themselves in Spanish as they massaged us. And for me - it was not a massage it was a light rub. I do NOT recommend this facility at all.
If you are looking for a good and reasonable place to get a stereo installed in the Greater Rochester area - then I would Highly recommend these folks. They are the best. The owner, Barry, is quite a colorful character - BUT he sure does not want any one to pay more than they should for a stereo. He also tries not to oversell you a model with bells and whistles you do not need, I recommend these folks totally and without reservation.
I was on vacation and my folks were house sitting. They got locked out when the wind caught the door and slammed it as they were sitting on the front porch. My neighbor had a spare key - but was not at home - so my folks called Carls Locksmith. They liked him and thought he did a good job. BUT $143 is a lot of money to spend getting into your house. Especially when he had them in in 4 minutes. They went ahead and got an extra key to hide just in case - for which he charged and extra $5. Very pricey!
City Shoes of Rochester is a good Family owned and operated store. They specialize in shoe repair - of all kinds.
I recently ruined a new pair of wing tip shoes in the snow and ice here in Rochester. (Ice eats away at the leather - unfortunately). I took the pair in to the Carzo brothers and was very happy with the repair job. For $23.56, I have what now appears to be a new pair of shoes. They also have a nice wax coating on them to help endure the elements. I highly recommend this shop.
Barks and Bites is a relatively new pet sitting service in the Raleigh area. I came by them through an ad in the local paper. Last weekend we had them come and take care of my cocker spaniel. Our dog is quite finicky and does not always take to everyone. He immediately took to Michelle. She cam by three times a day while we were gone to walk him and feed him. They got along well. We had to come home a day early - and everything was fine. She was VERY nice and did not charge us for the extra day. Kudos to this company!
If you can such a thing - this is a good funeral home. We attended a wake and service there recently for a friend of the family. The director was on hand and greeted us when we arrived for the wake. The funeral home is older but has been kept up and in good shape. The staff was very kind and attentive to the needs of the mourners. There is ample handicapped parking and the outside has a nice memory garden. They had a hearse, 3 limos and 2 flower vans - so they appear to e very well prepared to handle the needs of a large family.
In a recent move to Rochester - I was looking for a new cleaners to take my clothes. There are not many in the area that I moved to. However, I did find on on Highway 31 - Erwin's Cleaners. The prices at Erwin's are cheaper than I am used to and they acceot the local RARES club card which gives an extra 20% discount. Clothes brought in by 9 AM are ready for pick up after 5PM. I have found the staff to be quite helpful and courteous. I plan to continue using them.
Being a single guy in a new town can be stressful to say the least. Having recently moved to the Rochester area, I can honestly say that Lorraine's has been a GREAT ASSET to me. Meals are wrapped individually for one - or for two, three or four people. Utensils, napkins and condiments are included. So all one has to do - is bring it home - place it in the microwave - and VOILA - a gourmet meal! The feel of the place brings back memories of a French cafe years ago. Customers are also allowed - and even encouraged - to sample the items at the store. Kudos to Lorraine and her very helpful staff.
I had an emergency and my regular dentist was on vacation - so I called the closest dentist to me - Dr. William Joyner and I was very pleased! His staff took me right away and since I was in pain had me in the chair within 5 minutes of arriving in the office. He was very personalble and eased my pain and completed my procedure. I was expecting an exorbidant billl for the last minute timing of my appointment. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. In fact, the receptionist told me he did not charge extra - except for late night emergencies. I am in the process of changing dentists to Dr. Joyner permanently.
Carey Execucoach Limousine Incorporated is a company to be totally avoided! The ONE experience we had with them is NOT to be repeated. Avoid at all cocsts! The limo was late and the driver, in all honesty, had been drinking we do believe! It was horrible. The car smelled of booze and vomitus! The seats were torn and the carpet dirty - not what someone wants when they rent a limosine for a friend's wedding! I complained to the owner and he only laughed and said we are too picky. I have complained to the BBB and am considering a SMall Court lawsuit.
