i was looking for a formal black shoe with some comfortable magnetic soles. the magnetic soles were supposed to give a firm grip and at the same time comfort. i did not find it at this place.
the place is located right off ford road and so accessibility is not a problem - although a display board for the location of their parking lot would be helpful. i had some problem parking at the peak hour, when i was visiting this place.
the price also seemed to be a bit on the higher side especially compared to payless shoe source.
i regularly go to fairlane mall for mall walking and in one of those trips visited bakers to buy a shoe.
although other shoe stores like footlocker and payless show source are around in the same mall - and also shoes available in chain stores like sears, kohls etc within walking distance, i think bakers is different. the entrance was well lit and that captured my first sight - which i think is quite important for a borderline customer.
i visited bakers shoe store while i was looking for a magnetic sole shoe. i found a brand name shoe that had this description but it was expensive. so i did not buy them.
but my friend who had come with me bought a set of sneakers.
i found this place while driving to a friend of mine. i stopped for some casual window shopping. the parking lot was especially big and so i thought i could as well go into the store - and again it was winter and the decor was enticing to check-it-out.
the staff and the place were welcoming for a casual visit.
I found that their collection was good. it was very tempting to buy a jacket but i didnt need and so did not buy one. the prices were bit on the higher side too.
i was looking for a good card for a close friend of mine. unlike chain stores this store had a very good and personal collection of cards. also the place was good for shopping.
the approach road was not that busy and parking spaces were easily available. i typically dont go to garder city for my shopping, so i may not frequent this place.
but the overall store decor was good and welcoming.
I went to cardwell florists looking for a bunch of roses. i could find a good rose bunch at a good price. i actually used to buy flowers at a place in westland - but stopped by in cardwell when i was visiting a friend in livonia.
the store was well laid out with creative color streamers and displays. my friend who had come with me also got ideas about flower displays- we actually ended up buying a bunch of roses and a flower vase and trying out arranging the flowers ourselves with some helpful tips from the staff.
that was quite a nice experience. would certainly visit them again if i get some leisure time.
i was looking for a tennis racket and my friend suggested that this place had a good collection. i found that dicks sporting goods had a good collection and the staff were very helpful.
i went back again to replace the guts on my other racket. the drive on central city parkway is also good and relaxing. you may have a tough time finding this store tucked away in a corner, so i would recommend that you call the store before you visit - especially if you are not familiar with the area.
i was looking for a small gift for my niece and i visited this place on a friend's recommendation. the place was very well maintained and it looked nice.
the place had variety but i think it was slightly over priced compared to baskets that i found in sam's club. but then being a smaller place, i think they had to do the differential pricing to remain in business. the main interesting thing about this place is that they specialise in gift baskets.
they also do free gift wrapping.
i went to dearborn wig with a friend of mine who was looking for a halloween costume. their variety was amazing. the store is relatively small - main entrance just about 5 to 6 feet across - but i could not believe how much one could pack within that small place.
this is a good place. it was very well accessible as it was on michigan avenue. the staff knew what they were saying. my friend could find what i wanted. so would certainly recommend at least one visit.
parking was a not a problem as long as you knew where to enter that lot. a board would certainly be helpful in that aspect.
I walked into auto tote just out of curiosity - and because of its welcoming sign. also it was in an exlusive place in northville. the equipments seemed exotic and i found some good variety here.
things were a bit expensive and also this place had some high range items. everything was very beautiful but did not fit my bill.
i could find some specific saddles that i had seen while visiting a friend of mine in kentucky. the staff were also kind enough to explain things to me - and also answer most of my stupid questions about pure breds.
this place had some really nice flowers that were cheap as well as good. i did not find such stock in the large chains. also the staff were welcoming and helped me.
my first impression was good as i was impressed by their variety in their seasonals section. i think daffodils is definitely their strong point. the display and flower arrangements could have been better.
the location is in allen park is ok and parking is reasonable especially because they are at a busy intersection.
