We live near here so decided to visit the Trolley Museum. If you are into trains and trolleys you will probably like it but we are not avid train buffs so there wasn't much to hold our interest. We rode the train. It was a nice ride through the area and would probably be very pretty in the fall when the leaves are changing color.
While on vacation we stopped at Crystal Cave. We took a guided tour through the caves. We learned of their history and how they were formed. They have a minature golf course, gift store and snack bar.Great tourist attraction if you will be in the area.
We have visited the Sight and Sound Millenium Theatre several times. They put on plays where the Bible comes to life. We have seen their Christmas Spectacular, Daniel and Noah. They are all done wonderfully. They spare no expense. They have live animals, great actors and intricate sets. The building itself is beautiful. If you are in the area I would highly recommend seeing a show. I am sure you will really enjoy it.
While on vacation in Lancaster we road the Strasburg Rail Road. It is a great scenic ride through Amish country. The trip has a narrated story about the area. It was nice and relaxing to ride on this great steam locomotive. They have several gift shops and a restaurant. They also have dining cars. Another must see while in Lancaster county.
While vacationing in Lancaster we visited Kitchen Kettle Village. It is a collection of different little shops. They sell everything from homemade jams, jellies, baked goods to fudge, handmade quilts and Amish country souveniers. They have different vendors that sell food and also free musical entertainment. Great place to shop for Amish country specialities.

We visited this museum on our vacation to Lancaster. I have never been to a wax museum but I thought this was great. There 32 different scenes of how Lancaster county became what it is today. There are some fun interactive displays. Your self guided tour ends with a 10 minute animated Amish barn raising. This is my son's favorite museum and we have gone through it several times. I highly recommend it for a fun and educational tour of the history of Lancaster county.
This is a self guided tour through the Anderson Bakery pretzel Factory. As you walk through you see how pretzels are made from start to finish. You see the machines which twist the pretzels, the large ovens which bake them and how they are are packaged to send to consumers. At the end of the tour you get a sample of pretzels. They also have a store where you can purchase their products. Very interesting tour to see where our favorite snack comes from.
This is a great show and a definite must-see that will help you to learn about the Amish way of life. This 3-D shows the Amish lifestyle through the eyes of a young Amish boy named Jacob. The children get to make the choice if they want to continue the Amish way of life. They are often allowed to explore thing outside of the Amish community such as driving a car. This show is very unique and has some special effects.
