Rollier Hardware Inc

This is the place to go when you need help with a project. The staff is always knowledgeable and anxious to be helpful. They are there if you want them, but let you browse alone if that's the way you like to shop. They have things that are a bit higher class than the normal hardware store. This is an enjoyable place to shop as it is nicely furnished and always very clean, bright and neat. However, the price is a bit higher than the usual hardware store. But when you need something unique in the hardware line, it is well worth it.

Smithfield News

I like this store because they have the variety of thing that I seem to want. I also like it because it is quick to get in and out of. This place always has something new and is a place that I feel comfortable in to stop and grab something when I'm in a hurry.

Urbanowicz Jewelers

This is a place where you may feel good about what you purchase. They are quick to explain anything you are interested in. The repair service has also proved to be timely and done in a quality way. I've made several purchases and have been pleased with them. I feel the value for the money is good and is certainly comparable, if not better, than the big chains.

Gamestop

This is a fairly new location. It has a knowledgeable staff who are always able and eager to help. They do know the games they sell well and are able to talk about many of them in detail. That's a plus before handing over hard earned cash. I feel very confident about buying from them because I really have a good feel for the games before the purchase. I wish all businesses were as helpful as this one!

Thermo Twin Windows

We had most of the windows in our house replaced by Thermo Twin Windows. We plan on using them when we get around to replacing the rest. The service was great beginning with the salesman who came to the house to measure and give us an estimate. We had the first of the windows replaced some years ago and they are still in superb shape. I'd recommend them to anyone. By the way, you can stop by their facility in Oakmont and tour their factory. Do it...it convinced us that they were the people we wanted to make our windows!

PROS: Employee owned so they take a personal interest in their business
CONS: NOTHING!

I feel the plans available thru Highmark BC/BS are very good. I've been shopping for a Medicare related policy and have been pleased with the information received. Naturally, insurance is a complicated subject, and theirs is no different. However, I've been able to get information sent to me as requested.

PROS: High quality products.
CONS: Get different information from different people at times.

Thomas Kinkade Signature Gallery

If you're a fan of Kinkade, this is THE place for you. You'll enjoy seeing a variety of his works on display in just the right lighting. You'll also be able to choose from not only paintings, but night lights, calendars, screen savers, etc. Be sure to check this shop out for gift items as well.

Station Square

Station Square has grown quite a bit over the years. It now has the original building housing offices, restaurants and shops. More building has expanded outside which includes places like Hard Rock Cafe and even a nightclub area. The Gateway Clipper Fleet is docked on the premises. There is a Shareton Hotel and parking garage on site as well. There is definately something for everyone here. It's quite easy to spead a whole day and evening here.

John Mc Ginnis & Co

This store has a variety of products. There have been times over the years when I would not shop there. I'd see employees who were working with meat in clothing/aprons that were dirty with who knows what and also had some bloody stains. It made me wonder how they handled fresh meat and deli items. I have gotten wonderful produce there even though I still do not buy anything else there. That's probably just a quirk of mine as the store now appears a whole lot cleaner and I have not seen any employee in soiled clothing in a very long time.

McGinnis Sisters Special Food Stores

Their meat is the best. I just bought a fresh turkey breast and was very pleased. It not only had great flavor, but was melt in your mouth tender. I've shopped here for years and have been very pleased with the variety and quality of their meats in particular. They also have an extensive seafood department with very fresh things. The produce and deli has the same top notch type products. I've not been overly impressed with their bakery items, but that's probably just my own personal tastes. I'd still recommend McGinnis Sisters to anyone!

PROS: Interesting place...always something new.
CONS: Parking lot is on a hill and shopping carts can not be taken to your car.
