The Prairie School

The staff has been around forever in this Frank Loyd Wright architectured building. While the exterior has been updated with newly donated buildings, the staff is my biggest gripe. The fieldhouse is breathtaking, and the computer technology center is almost as big.
Some improvements could be made on the soccer, hockey, and baseball fields.
If you want your kid to have a great education, and arent worried about money, The Prairie School is a privately run endowment and alumni run college prep school that will meet and exceed your expectations.

PROS: Small student/teacher ratio
CONS: $8000 + expenses, books, meals

John & Glenns Collision Center

This body shop has taken the right steps to become a leader in the industry. They use real metalworking instead of bondoworking. There is very little bondo used in this shop. From classic cars to everyday collision, the prices are very reasonable, and the entire staff specializes in their own specific areas.
My custom was completed about 10 years ago with extensive metal fabrication, and is still holding up great.
Friends with similar work done at other area shops experienced cracking in the bondo only weeks after the work was complete.
Very professional, and reasonably priced.

PROS: Priced reasonably/competitively
CONS: small shop. need to expand to increase volume

State of The Art Car Audio

The installers at State of the Art Audio are among the best I have ever experienced.
They spent over 2 hours bombarding me with information about the different products available for my car in every price range. It was totally my call on the components unlike some other stores in the area that push high priced brands and slam the competition's lines.
Workmanship is first rate.

PROS: Many brands
CONS: pricey

Eternal Tattoos Inc

This is the bombdiggitiest place to get any tattoo imagineable, wherever you want.
They'll even go south of the border to pierce "things".
This establishment has the most professional and sterile environment I have ever dealt with. The artists are true definitions of the word, and creativity abounds.
There are others around the area, but you wont find another in their league.

PROS: Sterile, clean, experienced
CONS: pricey

Magic Quick Lube Inc

Service ok, but more like a new car lot. Pushy mechanics try to sell you everything under the sun. Discount card is so you dont have to pay the jacked up prices, marked WAY up so you think you're getting a deal. Females beware, as they use scare tactics to get you to OK unneccessary and unwarranted repairs to your car.

PROS: Fast Service
CONS: Pushy

Natures Creek Petting Zoo

Fly-by-night "zoo" erected in someone's back yard.
Animals covered in sores, feces, and tumors.
The water they had was dirty, food was nowhere in sight, and the 12 year olds working the front counter more interested in chatting than feeding or cleaning the animals.
"concession stand" was a shack with a refrigerator and microwave.
Reported to animal control, and BBB.

STAY AWAY!!!!!

CONS: all - should be shut down, and owners thrown in Jail

Electrik Image Spa

Tanning salon offers a variety of packages, and different levels of light intensity based on skin types.
Large selection of tanning lotions and suits.
Staff is young, hip and friendly, and are still able to interact with the adult crowd well. Tanning beds are clean, and bulbs brown better than any beds i have been to in a long time.

PROS: Selection
CONS: pricey

Oakwood Gym

New gym with a LOT of equipment crammed in a small place. Good total workout, but trainers not available. Very pricey, but they have to pay for the new equipment. The building is a newly constructed one, and it is kept clean. However, there is not a towel supply or bottles of cleaner anywhere, so you are forced to work out in other people's sweat if you dont bring your own cleaning supplies.

PROS: New machines
CONS: Congested, cramped, pricey

Mar's Cheese Castle

Huge selection of fresh cheeses and sausage. Taste testing for all varieties so you know what youre getting. Cheese curds are to DIE for. Also has a HUGE wine selection. Staff is young, hip and friendly, and are still able to interact with the adult crowd well. Store is clean, and selection is better than any cheesery i have been to in a long time.

PROS: Huge selection
CONS: none

Monroe Florist

Good Variety. Employees cater to the customer for total satisfaction. They will go the extra mile, including delivery on a HOLIDAY!!
The salespeople are accomodating and are full of ideas. They have a LOT of experience, and will please you more than any store in the area.
Delivery available.
Fresh flowers watered and cut daily.
Huge selection of balloons and stuffed animals.
