Whitecliff Winery
Whitecliff Winery, located in Gardiner, with a great view of the Shawangunk Mountains, has a great selection of locally made wine. The tasting area is large, so there isn't usually a wait. And you are given the wine glass that you taste with. There is a small fee to taste, but the wine prices are great. There is also an outdoor seating area. On a clear day, you'll want to spend a while relaxing and scoping out the view.
ben marl winery
Ben Marl Winery, America's Oldest Vineyard, is one of my favorites in the area. Besides having a great selection of wine, and a good size tasting area - the view is absolutely spectacular. (In fact, you can host a wedding or private event on their grounds for a small rental fee.) Their are tours inside of where the wine is made, and also of the owner's art (he's actually a famous artist who has done several record covers, among other things), and their are tours of the vineyard itself.
Mid Valley Wines & Liquors
Mid Valley Wine and Liquor has one of the largest selections in the area, and the staff is always on hand to make sure you can find what you need. The best part is their great selection of local wine. My personal favorite - Brotherhood Winery's Riesling (their best seller). Locals and visitors to the area can hit the Hudson Valley's best wineries in one stop by coming here.
Beesmer's Furniture Inc
Beesmer's furniture is a home town secret - locals know this is the place to go, and is much better than chains if you want really good wood furniture. The showroom is huge, and the staff couldn't be friendly. It's a little bit of a hike all the way up in Kingston, but the quality and the prices are worth it. (Not much more than chain stores, but MUCH better quality).
Little Pie Co
The little pie company, with several locations around NYC, including Grand Central Terminal, is the perfect place to grab a little dessert on your way home (they have pies for one or two), or for your office party or on your way to a party. The cakes are great, but the best (and their most famous) is the sour cream apple pie. Delicious! Check this place out.
Buttercup Bakery
Buttercup bakery is famous for the terrfic cupcakes and cakes. Perfect for office parties, they even deliver. The staff is friendly (Who wouldn't be, working in a bakery?!), and clients and coworkers who aren't already familiar with this place will rave. Prices aren't bad for what you're getting - delicious oversize cupcakes. (In fact, most people will cut them in half - they're that huge.)
Wallkill View Farm Greenhouse
Wallkill view farm, located on the outskirts of New Paltz, just over the bridge, is a great place for local farm produce, as well as really delicious baked goods (apple turnovers, muffins, bagels, etc.) They have the typical farm stand goodies like cakes, pies and jams, and their candy apples in the fall are incredible (we ordered some for guests at our wedding).
P & V Enterprises
P&V enterprises is a full service AV and corporate theater production company. They do a wide range of corporate audio visual, and will also put together your gala dinner or company event. I've used them for several years, and they continue to be a pleasure to work with. They also do event registration, including the on-site portion. Extremely professional and dedicated.
Cupcake Cafe
The cupcake cafe has the best cupcakes in NYC. The store is on the small side, but plenty of room for these amazing cupcakes. Stop by to pick up a few, or place an order. They even deliver. They come in a variety of colors, and are perfect for office birthdays or showers. They also have other pastries, in case (gasp) someone doesn't like cupcakes.
Gurneys Spa
We stayed overnight at Gurney's Inn back in January, and while it wasn't beach weather (and the beach and ocean looked gorgeous) the views from the restaurant and spa was incredible. Our room didn't have much of a view, and it was smaller than I thought it might be, but this was still a great getaway. Prices obviously sky rocket in the summer, but if you can catch a decent deal, than it would be worth it. The massage was amazing, but I'd skip the facial next time.
