Number 1 New York Pizza
When you call in your order, make sure you don't have too many toppings (especially pineapple) as you may be told your pizza will be ruined. These people make awesome pizza true to New York style. Prices are reasonable and the pizzas come in good sizes.
Anthony's Homeport
Looking for a fun place with great food? This is it! Casual dress seems to be the norm, but some people do dress up still. The seafood is wonderful and there is also a special deal that if you get there before 6 pm, I believe, you can order a special meal for around $15 which includes appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert. Their coffee is superb, the wine is delicious, the staff is very friendly. This has been a favorite for many many years.
Paradise Pet Lodge
This is the pet lodge of choice when leaving town. They walk and play with the pets and let them run around and get some exercise. If you have more than one of the same pet (two dogs, for example), they can board together in the same room. If your pet is extremely spoiled at home, you can ask for an actual 'room' with a bed and t.v. for your furry friend. Pricing would be higher, of course. Make sure your pet is caught up on all shots before bringing to the lodge.
Rosalie Whyel Museum-Doll Art
This is a wonderful place to visit! Not necessarily for children, but youngsters aged 8 and up may enjoy it without boredom. The museum is large with many beautiful displays of dolls through the centuries. There are featured exhibits from time to time so it's important to check out what is showing at the time you visit. Gift shop is great as well.
Bellevue Art Museum
My most recent visit to BAM was to see the teapot exhibit but was pleasantly surprised to see other very interesting exhibits featured that day as well. Staff is very knowledgable with the exhibits and happily answer any questions. I will certainly return in the future.
Applebee's Neighborhood Grill
Never had an unpleasant experience here. Usually sit in the bar (non-smoking bar, imagine!) as can get in right away without waiting for a table. Food is excellent and staff is courteous.
PROS:
CONS: Prices tend to be high, depending on what you order
Dollar Plus Stores
This store has a large party/gift wrap section and with prices at $1, you can't beat it. They usually carry unique seasonal items and these make great gifts. Some of the food items (canned items) go for 2/$1 but sometimes with the food, you could buy it cheaper at the grocery store, so just pay attention to what you put in your cart. It's a great place to browse around in, that's for sure.
PROS:
CONS: Cash or credit only.
Weed's Variety
My experience has been that if there's something I want, I can usually find it somewhere else for less. However, I needed ribbon one day and they had it, so I can't complain about the necessities that they carry.
Mariah's Restaurant
A favorite restaurant of my family when visiting Ocean Shores. Good selection of menu items and reasonable prices. From lovely fish dinners to simple burgers, they aim to please. If you are staying at the Polynesian and order up from Mariah's, they will bring it to you as room service which is a nice plus.
Polynesian Ocean Front Resort
This is the lodging of choice for my family and our dogs. We can get a room with a kitchen and fireplace and deck with a wonderful view of the beach. Pricing is pretty reasonable as well. Location is pretty close-in as well.
