Koh Samui & The Monkey
If you visit Koh Samui & The Monkey, you must try their famou Green Curry with Beef! (It's listed as Green Curry with Chicken, but if you're not allergic to Beef, switch it, you will thank me later.) It may be a bit spicy to some, but Green Curry with a kick will make you remember Koh Samui & The Monkey.
reccomend: Order To-Go and walk over to PacBell Park, you can enjoy the scenary inside/outside of the park while eating your favorite Green Curry.
PROS:
CONS: a bit expensive
Korea House
awesome food for little money! if you want to impress your friends or family, take them out to Korea House, don't worry, it will not empty your wallet, in fact, you may still have pocket change that you can take them to the ice cream shop next door for dessert!
Korea House is very cozy and it provides free small appetitizer dishes for FREE. yes, as long you order something from the menu, these appetitizers are free and you eat as much as you want.
PROS: good food and won't drain your wallet
CONS: always packed
Northpark Apartments
Their management service is terrible. They implemented a new parking system but never put into effect, therefore, residents always have hard time finding parking.
Last May they sent out a notice saying that they will close down the pool due to the reconstruction of the community center, but promised to reopen in December of the same year. Unfortunately, when the following summer came, the pool was still closed, May, June, July and August went by, still no access, and finally, they re-opened the pool in September, when it's too cold to swim, and you would think they would heat the pool, NO, pool is not heated.
terrible, just terrible.
PROS: close the train/bart and freeway
CONS: everything
Yoko's Japanese Restaurant
There are tons of Japanese restaurants in the Peninsula area, but Suzu stands out of the crowd because of its got French flavor in its cuisine. I highly recommend their appetitizers, specifically the fried taro balls, which melts in your mouth and it's well-balanced with a light sauce and garnish.
Their ramen is so-so at best, but their entree set might worth a try.
PROS: nice lighting and simple decorations make it a good place for dating
CONS:
Ramen Halu
The Owner is a die-heart ramen lover, he created his own Halu Ramen, which has a very unique soup base. As described on the menu, the soup base requires hours and hours of cooking, which you can tell when you take a sip of the soup, it's very thick and comes with different variety of vege and 2-slices of pork. Halu Ramen may not strike you in flavor, but its uniqueness in its cooking will. If you are a ramen lover, Halu Ramen is worthy for tasting.
PROS: unique taste
CONS:
Santa Japanese Restaurant
This is the ultimate ramen heaven! If you have not tried their famous tonkatsu ramen, you ought to drive there and order one right now. Ingore the miso and shiyouu flavor ramen, you can't go wrong with any selection within the tonkatsu flavor ramen.
highly reccomend their chicken karage (fried chicken) and grilled squid, which is ONLY available during dinner.
PROS: delicious food
CONS: long wait, especially during winter season
