Food is pretty good. The environment can get a little cramped at times when the suburbanites are out in full force, but typically a fairly reasonable wait time. Good place to go with friends if you're not looking to drive far and have a few drinks. However, do not expect to have anything that includes red bull, such as a Jaegerbomb or Red bull and vodka, because they do not stock red bull at all (fairly disappointing). Service is good.
Ukrops is Richmond. People who live here couldn't live without it, and people who come here hate to leave it behind when they depart. The prices can be slightly higher than competitors, but the quality of food is exponentially better. Meat, produce, and cold cuts are definitely fresh and taste great. In addition, when on the go, there is a great selection of pre-prepared foods to satisfy any appetite. I must recommend the panini's which are fantastic if you have 5 minutes to wait for them to heat them up. If you haven't been, you're not a true Richmonder (unless you're new, in which case you are forgiven).
Jos. A Bank is fantastic for the new professional, or the mature, seasoned professional with established tastes. After a mediocre experience at Men's Wearhouse, I purchased my next suit at Jos A Bank and was beyond impressed. The quality of the fabric and cut of the suits is extremely good, for a premium not too pricy beyond what you would pay elsewhere. I have since bought two more suits from JAB and plan to purchase another 3-4 in the not too distant future. The staff is beyond accomodating to your own personal tastes, and the tailoring was of good quality. Great place for suits.
Bought my first suit at Men's Wearhouse to begin interviewing when I graduated college, and the suit was presentable and stylish enough to satisfy potential employers, as well as a young adult. However, the tailoring was done fairly poorly originally, and the suit had to be fixed for obvious errors before it was appropriate for professional use. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff is usually willing to help, but the quality of the suits as well as the tailoring job in particular leave a bit to be desired.
I have been using Sunny Cleaners since they opened, and have not had any serious issues with my clothing coming back damaged or in poor condition (beyond normal issues with starching of shirts that are usually unavoidable). They were originally very reasonable with prices, likely to attract a loyal customer base, but have since raised their prices slightly. They are still reasonable, and the quality has not changed, so if you are having any issues with your current dry cleaner, I would give them a shot.
West Tower is not nearly on par with Regal Cinemas Short Pump, however, neither are their prices. Slightly cheaper than Short Pump, West Tower doesn't boast nearly as broad a selection of times and movies available, but the selection is adequate for the casual movie-goer. Also, the theater is great for dates because of the slightly less crowded theater, creating a much more relaxed environment to enjoy the movie with your significant other. The seats are comfortable, and space is adequate.
Regal Cinemas Short Pump is definitely the nicest movie theater in the Richmond Area, and they are aware of that fact. The prices are slightly higher than the competitors in the area, but not so high as to drive business away. The selection of movies is always more than adequate. Also, the seats are relatively large for an average sized person, and they are very comfortable, as they recline back with slight pressure. Ladies, bring a sweater or jacket, as it is likely you will be cold, but all in all a good establishment.
This Applebees is on par with the greater majority of other Applebee's restaurants I have encountered. The food selection is about as reasonable as you can find for a chain restaurant nowadays, and equally good. The sandwiches are perfect for lunch or dinner, and the atmosphere is appropriate for all ages and groups of people. A four person family or four college students will both be satisfied with the food, service, and price, as well as the environment surrounding them. This particular applebee's had a very friendly staff, which made the dinner that much better.
Whether going out with family for dinner on a weeknight, or friends on a weekend, Friday's definitely provides acceptable service and a good atmosphere. If looking to eat a quiet dinner, I wouldn't suggest going on a friday or saturday evening past about 830, but if you're looking to have a good time with some friends and grab a few brews, Friday's definitely has a decent bar scene for the non-downtown going crowd. Prices are on par with most other establishments, and the food is good in case you get hungry in the process.
Everyone knows hooters for their great eye candy and interesting environment. This Hooters is no exception, as the waitresses are most assuredly attractive, but also the food is pretty good, better than some of the other hooters I have visited over the years. Wings, of course are an olde standby at Hooters, but if you're looking to branch out into other things, the grilled cheese is a very cheap alternative, and many of the sandwiches are not only very reasonably priced, but pretty good as well.
