Whether you need to store your boat for the winter or you just want to stop while out boating to get some snacks this is the place to go. They are an old-timey country store with alot to offer. The place has little decor but is roomy and has seats if you just want to take a load off for a minute. Too far out to shop on purpose, but if you're in the neighborhood it's a great place to stop.
Boat covers and car covers made from canvas can be repaired quickly and reasonably at Howell & Sons. They do good work and you'll like how quickly they get your cover back to you. It's not really cheap to have this type of work done but this place is comparable to others who do the same type of work.
Got a new boat? Have a protective cover made for it by Boat Covers Unlimited. They use high-quality materials and do really great work. Prices aren't cheap but are comparable to others who do this type of work. These people really take pride in their work and will put in any amount of time to give you great results.
PROS: they do really good work
Trust your boat cleaning to Etheridge. They know what they're doing and they'll be extra careful not to damage your boat while giving you good, pressure-washed results. This place cares about the quality of their business and will arrive on time, get the job done quicikly, and give you great service to boot.
PROS: great services
Paradise Gifts and Flowers is located in a very small town so they might not have the best prices around but they do have nice arrangements and their service is excellent. The decor is simple: flowers, flowers and more flowers. The staff is knowledgeable and can help you choose just the right arrangement for your budget.
PROS: downtown troutman
Showers of flowers does nice arrangements but they're out of the way - nowhere near downtown Statesville - and their prices can be beat by several other florists in town. They're very helpful, though, and they know a lot about florals so if you're needing help and advice this might be a good business to choose. If you want to save money, go elsewhere.
Across from the mall, Broad Street Shell is not only convenient it's new and nice. Lots of pumps, plenty of parking and a decent selection of drinks, snacks and other household items. The prices on most items are reasonable for a convenience store with some prices being lower than most convenience stores. Convenient, easy to find, and the clerks are friendly.
PROS: convenient, new
Boulevard Grocery is really a convenience store which looks like something out of helltown. Bars on the windows, dried-up gas pumps and a dumpy interior are the features of this old south-side store. If you live nearby it's convenient. If not, I wouldn't recommend this store where the selection is poor but the prices are reasonable.
The Quick Shop in Statesville isn't in the best neighborhood in town but they do have convenience items and prices comparable to other convenience stores in town. The store itself doesn' t look too bad from the outside and the inside looks like many ohter convenience stores where the decor is beer and cigarette promotions.
CONS: bad neighborhood
Tarheel lumber has a great selection of lumber but their prices can't compare to those of the national chains. Sometimes they do have sales that make their prices somewhat lower than larger stores but usually they're quite a bit higher. Still, their customer service is impressive and they're very helpful.
CONS: higher prices than national building supply chains
