I got my tattoo here and was very pleased with the experience. I found just what I wanted, and there were many to choose from. I was terrified, and my tattoo artist was very understanding and talked me through the whole experience. I found them to be reasonably priced compared to other studios in Richmond. I would highly recommend Red Dragon!
This is a very nice small-town zoo. Nothing fancy, but there are a lot of different animals, and there is an area where you can feed the animals. Friendly employees, cheap to go visit, and just a fun afternoon! It only takes 2 hours maximum to go through the whole place, so it doens't take up your whole day!
I've been riding at Brandywine for 4 years now, and I love it here! I've been riding my whole life and know a good trainer when I see one, and Terri and Christina are great! Terri has horses for all levels of riders, and it is a nice, comfortable barn without the snobbiness that often comes with horse people. There is an outdoor arena as well as an indoor ring for when it rains or snows. They do lessons and pony rides, and have summer camps also!
This shop has a lot of wedding accessories such as flower girl baskets, unity candles, picture frames, etc. They say they also do cakes, but they aren't actually a bakery, so I'm not sure how that works. They have some wedding gowns for rent but they were all out of fashion. I haven't heard good things about their wedding services outside of their shop, but the shop is worth a look!
This is such a fun place! They have many toys from my childhood, and fun dress up clothes too. It is located in Carytown, which is convenient to lots of other shopping. This area in general is an awesome place to walk around on a beautiful afternoon! Go into World of Mirth for some old time fun!
This shop is run by a woman and her mom, and they are so nice! We met with them about doing our wedding flowers, and I got to see some of their work for another wedding, and it was beautiful.
The thing that kept us from choosing them is that when we met, we were basically asked what we wanted and weren't given any input. I appreciate their concern for my likes and dislikes, but they are the professionals, not me, and I needed some guidance! Every time I asked a question, the response was "Whatever you want."
So, while I didn't choose them for my wedding flowers, if I was ordering flowers for anything else, I'd be happy to use Flowers Make Scents.
Dr. Roshkind has a very special relationship with animals, and is very knowledgeable! The staff is nice and helpful, and the new clinic has very up to date equipment and is friendly! The only con is that she is often running late, and you may have to wait up to an hour past the time of your appointment. She is worth the wait, you just have to know to plan for it!
The vet here is okay from a medical standpoint, but I wasn't impressed with his approach towards my cats or towards me. Even after I told him that I worked for a vet for many years, he still treated me like a child who didn't know what I was talking about. He doesn't even come across as being crazy about animals. Anyone can know how to diagnose a problem, but it takes someone special to be a great vet, and this place isn't it.
Because Vogue is a bigger florist than others in Richmond, I didn't feel I got the personalized service for my wedding that I got at other places. The woman who does the wedding flowers is very knowledgeable, but did a lot of telling me what I wanted instead of asking me what I wanted. Prices were a little on the high end compared to other quotes I received from other florists, but I have no doubt that the flowers would have been beautiful had I used them. We just didn't seem to click.
Veda is wonderful!! The gowns here are amazingly beautiful. I found SO many that I wanted to try on. Veda devoted her time to completely to me, and I didn't feel rushed. You do need to make an appointment in order to get the kind of service I received. I did not wind up buying my dress here, but I was highly impressed and would recommend this bridal shop to anyone!
