Scottsdale Public Library System
If you want free high speed wi-fi internet access, head on to the nearest Scottsdale Public Library System! Kidding aside, I always go to the Mustang LIbrary here to checkout books and if I found something new, borrow it for a week. At the same time, I go there for fast we surfing and downloading stuff off the web (yes, free wi-fi!) Its easy to get a library card, just present an ID that you're living in Maricopa. Very friendly people around here.
One Call Plumbing Services
Used One Call Plumbing Services before. They've got several locations in the valley and the one closest to mine is the one at Scottsdale. They are very professional on their work and arrived on time. Had to get them to repair a bathroom leak and at the same time to have some faucet replaced. Would definitely use them again sometime in the future.
A Cut Above
Had tried A Cut Above barber shop weeks ago to have a trim. Their service is satisfactory - nothing fancy. Staff are courteous and the place is neat. My barber was friendly and we engaged in some interesting discussion. Gave him a good tip afterwards. Don't expect a designer / trndy haircut from here.
Foothills Elementary Sch
Had to transfer my daughter here after moving in from Scottsdale. Its my first time trying the Paradise Valley Unified District as I was previously on another city. Anyway, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They've got a nice playground for the kids and the teachers are very warm. My daughter said she's still adapting to her new class but overall still a nice school.
Precision Guitar
Went here to pick up some bridge pins for my acoustic guitar and to also checkout other stuff they sell. I was able to meet Thad, the owner and he's very friendly. We had a small talk and I could clearly see his honesty on doing business. They do all sorts of guitar repairs and seems to be knowledgeble on their craft. Overall, a great experience... would definitely recommend to friends/relatives.
Fed Ex
Mail Room is nice gift wrapping store. I've used their service a couple of times already on most occasions - especially on the christmas holidays. Very friendly staff and lots of gift wraps to choose from. The thing I like with this store is that they wrap the gifts very neat that I can't even see where the tapes are and then I tell my friends I'm a proffesional gift wrapper =)
Desert Impressions
I accompanied my brother in this store just located in Chandler. He said he's gonna inquire and check out the printed shirts this store is selling. I didn't know it was a screen printing company. Anyways, their t-shirts are okay and the prints are satisfactory. They print on high quality shirts like Hanes / Fruit of the Loom. I just didn't inquire if they can take your own design for printing.
Cactus Flower Florists
Cactus Flower is a family owned business servicing the valley for quite a long time. They're pretty famous in Scottsdale. They have fresh beautiful flowers everyday and the staff there are very friendly and would help you pick the right flower for you or for your occasion. I dropped by the store a couple of days back and was scouting for flowers for Thanksgiving and I have my eye set on the Sunflower Harvest package -- very nice.
Arizona Science Ctr
The Arizona Science Center is one definite must-go place if you visit Phoenix. We had our office community event there and the place is very beautiful. We got a nice conference room and all the staff are very polite and friendly. We had this private planetarium presentation and it was the bomb! Very informative and interesting. I'm gonna bring my relatives here when they come during thanksgiving.
St Anthony Catholic Church
I go this church everytime I spend my weekend on my brother's apartment. Its very near his place. Overall, a very nice church and quiet. The parishoners are very friendly and the priest provides good homilies. Ample parking and nice location. People from all walks of life worship here which is very good.
