I bought a video camera at Circuit City and we decided to go to Ala Moana to do additional shopping on other items. We walked by Ritz and decided to go in and match the prices. Unbelieveably, Ritz located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center, can offer us a better deal on our Canon. They even threw in a tripod and a bag for free. Needless to say, we returrned our item at Circuit City. That goes to prove that not all stores in Ala Moana cater to the rich and wealthy. I hope they keep up the competitive prices!
PROS: Good Deals and Packages
CONS: Small Selection
Ala Moana is fast becoming a mall for the rich and wealthy. There are new stores coming in and starting their business up everyday. The mall is always expanding and the stores to shop at are endless. You'll find your typical high end stores here - Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Ben Bridge, etc. Lower end stores are few now - Jeans Warehouse, Old Navy and Gap are probably the only few left with decent prices for clothing. Their food court is awesome though, tons of choices and everyone can choose what they want.
Only thing is that parking is mad crazy during seasonal months.
PROS: shops galore
CONS: not enough parking
I like going to Precision Vision to see Dr Abe (there are two of them actually). I was happy with their service and they really took the time to talk to you and explain everything in detail and in a language I could understand. I think their service and caringness there is by far the best I have ever recieved at any eye doctor's office. Most of them just want you in and out, but Dr. Abe took the time to explain and go over any concerns you have. I'd highly recommend him and his office.
PROS: Informative and Cares about patiences
Dr. Faulkner runs the show their and he is a very friendly and patient doctor. He was very informative and upfront about the procedures that he performs. He also guarantees a touch up within two years for free. If my eyes were not still growing, I'd definitely consider using Dr. Faulkner.
PROS: Uses Interlase
CONS: Higher Price
Paul Brown Salon is one of the most prestigous salons in Hawaii with a reputation to cost you an arm and a leg but give you the best service. They staff is very well trained and are very talented. Their facility is even better. It is a perfect place to pamper yourself and enjoy the day. The professional there treat you professionally so expect the best when you go there!
PROS: Nice Facility, Experienced workers
Hawaii Physical Therapy is a well known physical therapy clinic in Hawaii and their clients include people of all ages and race as well a few famous local celebrities, such as Michelle Wie. The faculty is friendly and the facility is pretty nice.
PROS: Experienced and well trusted
Vacations Hawaii offers great package deals for locals in Hawaii. Of course, they only offer hotels that are in downtown and the Stardust Hotel, however, you can not beat the price you pay for air, room, transportation and meals! They also also reward points and discounts if you use them more than twice. They have trips all days of the week and they are sold out very quickly!
PROS: Good price and travelling dates
CONS: Limited choices with hotels
Waikiki Sand Villa is a cozy little hotel on the Ala Blvd. It is only 2 blocks from the beach and the price is decent for the rooms you stay in. There is a pool and lounge area but their bar is probably the most reasonable in Waikiki. The Sand Bar offers excellent Happy Hour specials as well as large TVs for you sports fanatics, a pool and dart area and free internet usage as long as you buy a drink. I definitely recommend you staying at the Sand Villa. Spend a little less for the hotel rooms and use the money for some souvenirs!
PROS: good bar, lounge area
CONS: tight parking
I'd never go to another 24 hour Fitness again!vvI was invited by a friend to go to visit the 24 hour fitness in Waikiki and finally agreed to go with him after 4 months of begging.
I talked to Denver (assist mgr ) who tried to persuade me to join the membership with no down tonight. I was hesitant because I was not sure if i would be able to commit so quickly and I did not bring my wallet with me to pay $23 for a one time fee.
Basically, Denver went around the bush but I got the hint that either I sign up today or I go home due to the fact that I was a club member 3-4 years ago and didn't qualify for the pass. However, he could NOT pull my name up in the system. He also did not sympathize with me that my friend was waiting for me to work out with him. All he did was shrug and gave me this look "this is our policy." I'm a salesperson in my career as well and I know he was just trying to make commission. I personally felt discriminated b/c he did not see me as a potential client.
I have never used the Waikiki location before and I just wanted to try it out. Every club has its own environment as well as difference in equipment. I was very frustrated with the way the situation was handled. I was a former client and now I can't even go back to try another location out for ONE day with possibility that I will sign up in the future. Denver did not apology for the inconvenience although I showed much frustration and embarrassment that I had to tell my friend I could not stay.
As a corporation, I hope they learn to train their sales employees to be more professional and accommodating, especially towards former and potential clients.
Two weeks after my complaint to their corporate office, the manager at the Waikiki branch called and offered me a pass and he was surprised I was turned down that day when I said I was not there during late hours. All he could say was "oh, well I'm the manager so you can come back to visit" TOO LATE.
CONS: Terrible staff, even worse gym
I had a consultation with Dr Herbich and from my meeting with him, I could tell he was not very experienced with the diseases of the skin, so I do not think he should write Dermatologist next to his name. He did not know what kind of condition I may have and did not offer any suggestions. I felt that he was not very knowledgeable in this area.
I think he is more of a plastic surgeon which I did not know initially until I later heard his advertisement on radio stations giving away free plastic surgery at night clubs.
I don't know what to think about that - i guess it depends on your target of demographic clients and how much you need the business.
For plastic surgery, I'm not sure if he is any good but for dermatology, don't go there.
PROS: Nice Office
CONS: Not a dermatologist
