Fassbinder

New York, NY Jewelers 10/11/05: 'Very Nice Jewelry'

I dont know what I enjoy the most about this store. The nice uncluttered look. I like that the jewelry is arranged in vertical showcases, no more hunching over to view the assorted merchandise. The young woman who works there is most pleasant and has given me excellent advice when selecting a gift which was fairly priced and well received.

Current Designs Tekserve

New York, NY Computer - Dealers 10/11/05: 'Apple Mania'

You could travel down to Soho to the big Apple store to see the latest products or you can go to Tekserve and see the latest products llike the Nano close up. They are second to none in repairs which is really important if you have lost important files and need to retrieve them.

Evolution Nature Store

New York, NY Recreation Centers 10/11/05: 'bones and bugs'

It's almost like being in a miniature version of the Museum Of Natural History. All sorts of neat things here. Preserved butterflies, bugs and fossils. Lots of bones and rocks and other items from nature nicely displayed on Soho's main drive. These items are surprisingly cheap, lots of under $10 items that make great gifts.

Utowa Flower Gallery

New York, NY Florists 10/11/05: 'Fashion And Flowers'

How is this for a combination. Beautiful flower arrangements, many of strange and exotic flowers mixed in with fashion shows and clothing by some of new York's more intersting young designers. Definitely a must see place if you are in the area and have any interest in either fashion or flowers.

Verve

New York, NY Apparel - Misc 10/11/05: 'Nice Bags'

Verve carries a fine selection of bags and what makes the place a good place to shop at is they carry bags from up and coming designers that you're not likely to find elsewhere. There is a wide range of prices so you can find a gift for almost any woman on your list.

yoyamart

This store has a great mixture of goods for your kids. The clothing is adorable, we purchased a neat pair of boots for our daughter here a few years back. They also have some nice kids books, DVDs and some cool toys that you're not as likely to see in to many other places. A fun place to shop, your kids will love it.

NikeTown

Niketown is quite an adventure. They have pretty much everything Nike manufactures spread over 4 floors right on 57th street. By yourself a pair of running shoes or just hangout and look at the basketball shoes and equipment. The displays arre remarkable and the store constantly updates giving itself a futuristic feel.

Cupcake Cafe

New York, NY Cafes - New York, NY Bakers & Bakeries 10/11/05: 'Cupcake Mania In New York'

Some prefer Magnolia on Bleecker, some prefer Buttercup on Second Ave. I prefer Cupcake cafe. The cupcakes are more nicely decorated and the cakes don't have that thick cloudy buttery taste that seems to overwhelm so many others. The shop is rundown and could be a bit more sanitary for my sake but that being said these are great cupcakes and only in New York would this store, due to its rundown nature rate only a four star review. There are so many great cupcakes currently available here its incredible.

The Doughnut Plant

New York, NY Doughnut Shops 10/11/05: 'Step aside Krispy and Dunkin'

The Doughnut Plant makes top notch homemade doughnuts of unbelievable quality. The doughnuts are tasty and the toppings are for lack of a better word gourmet. Just mindbendingly great, quite frequently they change seasonally as newer fresher fruits become available. I drop by every two to three weeks to see what is new and to pick up a bag. Come early in the day as they sell through and the pickings get scanty as the day wears on.
