Smokey Shadows Motel is a decent motel for the price. The rooms are average, nothing particularly special. The front desk and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. I was not that impressed with the pool area, it seemed as if it was not kept up well. This may have been to high traffic and the time we were staying there. Overall this hotel is worth the money, and was a decent night's sleep.
Park Vista Resort Hotel is not really my idea of a "resort". As with the other review of this property, I have to agree that the hotel is slightly run-down and is in need of some major renovations. The grounds are not kept as well one would expect from their prices. The prices are high compared to most other nicer hotels. I would stay closer to town and get a better hotel for the price. This hotel is not within walking distance of downtown, either.
Twin Mountain Cabin Rentals was our first experience with log cabin rentals, and from that moment on, we have been hooked. This company is one of the few that will actually let you stay just one night. They also do not charge a cleaning fee. We had a great cabin that was really private, with a king bed and a hot tub on the back porch. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would definately stay here again if we are not traveling with our pet. This rental company is not pet friendly.
Aunt Bugs Log Cabin Rentals is a pretty good cabin rental company. We have only stayed in their cabins one time, and I was not so impressed. I think that most cabins are nice, with all of the different companies, but this company charges cleaning and reservation fees. There are MANY other cabin rental companies that do not. However, this company has clean homes and we would stay here again.
Lid'l Dolly's Dresses is a great place to buy dresses for special occassions. We always pick up a dress or two for my neice, but we always get them on the sale rack. They mark down dresses from time to time and we have been fortunate enough to be able to catch a few . The dresses are amazing, and they have everything to accessorize them.
We stayed here only one time, but we had a great stay. We were able to get a discound when we reserved the room, so that was an added bonus. They have a nice pool area as well. This hotel is set back from the road, so that was a nice break from the sounds of traffic. The staff was friendly and they rooms were average, but clean and accomodating. We would stay here again with the same discount.
Smoky Mountain Knife Works is a huge sporting superstore. The guys always drag is in here as soon as we arrive in the Pigeon Forge area. They have tons of knives, swords, etc. Downstairs they have kitchen spices, utensils, cookware, etc. They also have a small candy shop and a small section of collectibles and clothing. This is a great place to do Christmas shopping for the men in your life!
The Stratton Motel is a horrible excuse for a motel. I am truly shocked that this place is still open. The rooms are in terrible shape! We demanded a refund due to the holes in the carpet and holes in the sheets! The pool was in deserate need of a facelift, although the water did look clean. I would definately not want to take children here.
The Midtown Lodge is an old motel in downtown Gatlinburg. The location of this motel is excellent, but the rooms are not. The room that we occupied was old and worn. The furnishings were from the 70s. We were disappointed to find that there is a newer section, and we were not given a choice to look at one of those rooms. We would not stay here again.
We have season passes to Dollywood, and have been visiting this park since it was Silver Dollar City in the 70s. The park is beautiful and clean. They expand more and more each year, always something new. There are rides for anyone in the family. A great way to spend a day, or a week. Season passes save you money if you are planning on visiting for more than a couple of days.
