Bray and Scarff has a nice selection of appliances, especially some of the higher end models. Their prices are a bit higher than some of the larger stores. The customer service is excellent as is their repair/warranty department. I've purchased many appliances here over the years and continue to come back because of the great customer service.
Paula's is a small shop with a nice selection of some very pretty things. They have a nice accessory selectio and helpful sales people. Lots of handpainted, unusual things that you won't find in a department store.
Talbots has a nice selection of classic, preppy clothing. The styles aren't trendy and you know what you are going to find when you go in. The store is fairly small and the stock is somewhat limited. The sales people are very helpful and it's always organized. The dressing rooms are cleared out constantly so you won't find all the space taken up by the previous customers unwanted selections.
J Jill has very pretty clothing that is stylish but not too "young". A forty year old can find a nice selection of trendy clothing. The sales staff is very helpful and the store is organized so that it's easy to browse the merchandise.
Victoria's Secret always has a wonderful selection of pretty bras and panties. The quality is surprisingly good for the price and muliple sizes are always available. The stores are always neat and clean and the sales staff is very helpful. The window displays are always enticing and make you want to go in. They have a nice selection of nightgowns and pj's also. Their sales are great, especially the two for one and semi- annual sale.
Clair's is a paradise for the 8-11 yr old girls. They have tons of stuff and costume jewelry. They also do ear piercing and just about ever little girl I know including my own has had her ears pierced here. Their prices are low enough that a kid can buy something that they want and the bonus buys at the checkout are always a plus. They usually have little keepsake containers for .50 and things like that. The employees have always been nice but the stores are always kind of a jumbled mess though it doesn't seem to bother the young shoppers.
Ann Taylor always has a nice selection of stylish but not too trendy clothing. It's mostly a selection of fun casual wear that's appropriate for work. They don't carry much in evening wear although you can always find a little black dress here. The sales staff is always pleasant and helpful.
G Street fabrics has an amazing selection of fabrics for clothing and crafts. The store is huge. They also carry a selection of fabrics for upholstery downstairs. They have sewing classes available and the sales people are almost all expert seamstresses. If you want something made you can find someone here to do it for you.
This store was just finishing their renovations the last time I was there. They carry all your basic tiles and some of the most beautiful speciality tile, especially glass. They had some nice design ideas set up in the shop and were going to be putting up more displays in the near future. I'm sure it's been completed by now. Their prices are unbeatable and their customer service is top notch. The shipping charges were not too high even on imported tile.
This is a nice open store with a good selection of tile. They don't carry a whole lot of speciality tiles such as glass and pewter. Their prices are very good and their customer service is wonderful. Their shipping charges are very reasonable. I also like that you can return what you don't need, even if the box has been opened.
