This shop has some of the most beautiful tile available, especially the higher end lines. The service leaves much to be desired though. I waited over an hour for a salesperson to help me with my selection. Granted the store was busy but that amount of time is unacceptable. After all that the salesperson couldn't quote me a price on the tiles I selected and had to fax me a price quote 3 days later! There prices are higher on basic tiles, similar to other shops on their speciality lines.
This TV repair shop is in a house on New hampshire Ave. It's easy to miss. I've brought in a regular colored TV to be repaired. The TV was fixed quickly and within a short period of time. I don't know if they work on all brands but I'll certainly use them again if I have a problem that's not covered under a manufacturers warranty.
There are so many wonderful things about Cloverly Elementary school. The administration is wonderful, the teachers and ancillary staff are top notch. The students consistantly score above average on all standardized tests. It's a fairly small school although a mobile class was needed this past year. The playground was renovated in 2005 and it's surrounded by county park property. The neighborhood that feeds into Cloverly is very nice and consists of mainly single family homes.
This dance center is great for the serious dance student. The instructors are well trained and stress form and technique. Most beginners are about 6 though they do have beginning classes for adults. A wonderful recital is put on every other year. Her senior dancers are spectacular, some of the younger ones also. Her fees are on par with other area studios.
Bedding Barn is very easy to find. It's a stand alone store near the intersection of 29 & 198. They have a nice se;ection of quality matresses and the staff is helpful. The prices are on par with most other bedding stores and no pushy sales staff. Delivery was easily arranged and on time.
Dicks has pretty much what you would need for any sport. Their prices are very competitive. We've bought everything from lacrosse sticks to roller blades. My kids have a field day in this store and they always have plenty of sizes in everything. It's well organized so it's easy to find what you need.
This Chevy Chase bank is located in a shopping center so it's easy to combine errands. It's small with the same problem as most banks, not enough tellers working during busy times. I didn't open an account at this bank but I assume it's similar to any other of their smaller branches..
It's more like a convience store but they do have steamed crabs in season that are very good. The store is tiny and cramped but the owners/employees are extremely friendly, especially when you're waiting for your crabs to cook.
This is part of the Burtonsville farmers market. They have a good selection of cheeses and they have samples for customers to try. They also have other dairy products including an organic line that's very good. It's too bad that the hours are so limited.
This used to be the only Korean market in the immediate area but a larger store opened closeby. Korean Korner still has nice produce and seafood but the store could be cleaner. It would also help if their employees were a biy more helpful to customers who are unfamiliar with many of the Asian products.
