This Safeway is very small and has a very limited selection. They do carry a good bit of ethnic foods due to their location. The produce is OK but I wouldn't bother to go here for my regular shopping. It's one of the few Safeway's that hasn't been renovated.
This Super Fresh is enormous and has a great produce department. They carry many items that other grocers don't and the produce is always fresh. Their meat department is average but they do carry some things such as goat meat that you don't normally find elsewhere. They also have a good selection of frozen foods, seafood especially.
This Safeway has a nicer produce department than some of the other Safeways. It has a good selection of ethnic fruits and veggies. This store also has a wine department. I do think that Safeway's prices are a bit higher than Giant but the product selections and pleasant employees are worth the difference in price.
Parkway has the best deli food around here. The closest to a NY deli in this area. They make the best matzoh ball soup. You can special order Passover cakes that actually taste good. If you go on a weekend be prepared to wait for a table. This place is always crowded.
BJ Pumpernickes has pretty good NY style deli food. They're one of the few places that serve cabbage soup. Their menu has a wide variety of selections and the prices are reasonable. The sandwiches are huge, easily enough for two and the pickle bar is yummy.
Michaels has a nice assortment of basic supplies for most every craft imaginable. Their prices are vey competitive and the employees are helpful. I was surprised at how much they had in the way of planters and river rocks for planting, although I guess much of it is used for artificial flowers. Their prices for bags of river rocks is much cheaper than any garden center that I've been to. It's also a great place to find a new hobby.
I've never had a bad experience at Obelisk. The food is delicious. Only the freshest ingredients seasoned to perfection. The menu is price fixe and they have a nice wine list. The wait staff is attentive but doesn't hover. The restaurant is very small and reservations are a must.
The Bethesda Crab House has been around for a long time and has been consistantly good. The crabs are always fresh and well seasoned. The menu is very limited but what do you need with crabs anyway! Definitely a casual atmosphere.
You and your child are made to feel very at ease the instant you enter the office. They treat patients of all ages. The staff is warm and competent and Dr Erickson is just wonderful. Appointments are easily scheduled and reminders are given.
Meadows farms has one of the nicest selections of plants and trees in this area. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They also have a nice selection of greenhouse plants, fertilizers, fungicides and insecticides. Their prices are very competitive.
