Harbor Lights Condominium
These recently renovated apartments turned condominiums has done a complete 180. My cousin bought one of these condos and she absolutely loves it. When you walk in, you would never expect to see the kind of interior from looking at the exterior. They are located on Kahului Bch Rd right across from the harbor. They are also located right next to Maui Community College. It's right in the middle of Kahului and is within walking distance to the mall and other stores.
Maui Hawaiian Auto Body
On Halloween I went to Foodland to get some candy to give out to the kids. When I returned to my car there were a bunch of people standing in the parking lot and talking. I preceded to get into my car and drive off and was waved down by an elderly woman. I was one of the 5 people that got our cars hit in the parking lot. The insurance co. told me to go here for an estimate. They gave a great price and assured me that my bumper would be "good as new" when they get done with it. The turn-around time they gave me was a couple of days. They were right, it was done when they said and now you can't even tell that it was hit.

When my computer crashed, I didn't know what I was going to do. I didn't want to spend a lot of money to fix it, when I could just as easily spend the money on buying a brand new computer. My cousin referred me to this place and so I called them. The reception was really friendly and knowledgable. I told her what happened to my computer and she told me they could do a diagnostic test and figure out what was wrong. The test was around $35.00 and all that was wrong was that a file was corrupted. This took about a 1/2 and hour and for under $100.00, I fixed my computer. Yeah! They are located on the second floor, so if you have small children like I do, then I suggest you have someone who can help you to carry the hard drive.
Oriental Healing Arts
I was very sceptacle to do this, but my dad swears by it. The staff makes you feel extremely comfortable that you forget that it's actually tiny needles being stuck into your skin. The misconception is that it hurts, but it does not hurt at all. They are located on Makawao Ave, right in the middle of Makawao town. If you're eerie about needles, I would not recommend that you do this.
Maui Oil Change & Tune-Up
Before I had my own car, I used to borrow my grandmother's. She always expected that if you use her car, you had better return in better condition than when it left. So, I would always do her routine oil change. This is a first come-first served business. No appointments are taken for oil changes. They did it right then and there and the most that I had to wait was 30 minutes. They are located next to Tesoro gas station on the corner of Wakea Ave.
Tom's Appliances
We all know that at 7 pm, we do not want to have to take a cold shower. Well, for the last month or so, that's what me and my family had to do. Our water heater was acting funny, so I called Toms and within a couple of days, someone came out to look at the heater. They immediately knew what had to be done, so they ordered the part and came back out to fix it. They were quick to fix it and now we have hot water. Hooray! From the receptionist to the repairman, everyone was very helpful.
Scotts Refrigeration Heating & Air Conditioning
Very professional and accommodating! My parents live in Lahaina where it's probably the hottest city on Maui. If you don't have an air conditioner, then you're probably unhappy at home. They called Scotts and within a week, they had their whole house installed with a/c. Now, when me and my brother go to visit them, we actually stay there for more than 20 minutes. The crew that installed it were both friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend.
Paia Elementary School
My niece goes here and is in the 1st grade now. She absolutely loves school and the nice thing about this school is that she gets to see all of her friends from kindergarten. The classes are much smaller than most public schools, so the children get more personal attention from their teachers. Her mother is a single mother and has a really busy schedule, so my niece goes to A+ after school. A+ is an after school program where they have your child do his/her homework or projects and help them with it, also. The latest pick up time is 5 pm. This program allows parents to work a regular schedule and still have their child go to school.
Pukalani Elementary School
My oldest son is now in the 1st grade and he absolutely loves school. He misses his kindergarten class, but is completely normal when they are adjusting to new friends and a new class. He's doing great and is in advanced reading. We eat breakfast in the cafeteria every morning. For .35 cents, you can't go wrong. My son's favorite is the apple turnover and chocolate milk. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
Daniel T Mayeda Inc
Dr. Mayeda has been my dentist ever since I was 7 years old. Now my 6 year old son has the chance to call him his dentist. He's great with kids and makes you feel really comfortable the second he meets you. We all hate to go to the dentist, but the friendly and professional staff make you feel right at ease. He is located next to Treats & Sweets on Lono Ave, upstairs from Key To Life Chiropractic.
