This place has a real nice country feel to it. Definitely worth a try. Especially if you are tired of those franchise restaurants and the usual menu.
They are very late with sending information. I became there customer, signed up for sevice. I got an Intro packet about 2 months later. Customer Service is great. There are no long waiting periods on the phone.
They have great offers. I cancelled membership and they gave me a two month trial period.
PROS: great customer service, great retention offers
CONS: late about notices
I have been to Gallery Imports a couple of times as an amateur artist. The prices are pretty good; the customer service is also good. I here this a great place to buy frames as well. They have expensive frames for cheap for you degrees for the office or home. The parking is a big issue. The store is right on Main Street in Laurel and parking is a big issue. If you are lucky you can find a meter parking far away.
PROS: good prices & good stock of items, supplies for the professional & amateur
CONS: parking is far away and metered
It is a 50-acre public display garden inside the Wheaton Regional Park. This place is great no matter what season. During the summer/spring its beautiful and during the winter they have a great display of lights. Ofcourse you are walking in the cold and its not a indoors thing or drive-through. But its worth it. They also rent it out for weddings or private ceremonies.
PROS: available for rent, ample parking, no admission
CONS: outdoor lights display where you walk yourself in the cold
I have been to the Social Hall with the East County Community Center. They provide this room for rent and it can hold up to 150 to 200 people. The space is available for private parties; the rental fees depend on the type and duration of the event. There is ample parking available and a side entrance for the hall, so the guests don't have to go through the main building. There is also a small warming kitchen adjacent to the social hall.
They also have a smaller room available.
PROS: ample parking, holds 200 people, side entrance
CONS: there is a lot of parking, but its further from the building.
This is a great and newly created recreation center. They have everything from exercise room to game room to indoor basketball court. The onyl thing missing is indoor/outdoor pool. Access to the facilities are pretty cheap, including the exercise room. There is also ample parking. You can also rent a room in the rec center for a party. Its a pretty big room.
PROS: has pretty much everything, cheap admission, ample parking
CONS: no pool
This is a great school and they made it even better by giving it a new entrance and a new look. They have buses only zone for unloading kids; they also need another unload zone for parents. They have a Kindergarten and Head Start program as well. Breakfast is a $1.00 and Lunch is $1.75; This is a lot more than when I used to go to school.
PROS: renovated, new entrance, head start program
CONS: no daycare program for after school
This is a really beautiful drive-through display of more than 70 animated and stationary light creations. It is open every year around November 24 thru January 4. They are located near the Columbia Mall in Columbia, Maryland (in the Symphony Woods). They use to charge $12 per car, but now they charge $15. The lights have remained the same. I believe the profits go to the Hospital.
PROS: beautiful, a good thing to do with the family
CONS: increased the price, but didn't increase the lights
The prices here aren't that expensive, but its always a dollar or two more then the usual you will find if you drive about 5 miles to the east. They have a great selection. The people there are really helpful, if something on your list is expensive, they will give you the next best cheapest option.
CONS: a dollar or two more then in Laurel
Really good homemade Italian Ice/Ice Cream place. There are two picnic tables on the side of the building and a bench or two infront. Other than that they have only have two booths to take orders from and no places to sit inside.
PROS: good homemade ice cream, not too costy
CONS: no places to sit inside
